Saint EtienneBetter than I'd expected. Kind of catchy, kind of ethereal, good background working music, but probably not an 'active' listen.

Harsh statements first, it's not as good as Rumours, not even the same bracket. But Nicks' vocals are peak throughout, it's slightly more well ordered than Rumours (a longstanding complaint of mine), and Tusk itself is an all-timer track. Most bands would kill to get close to an album of this quality, but comparing with Rumours is always going to shortsell it.
Fine.
Not my sort of thing. Very clearly a 70's blues/folk/rock record, I can see why a 'jam band' sounding album has been put on the list, but I doubt I'd add it to my personal countdown.
I get the reductiveness of saying "It's a bit Blondie, init" about a female-fronted punk-pop band, but y'know, it's a bit Blondie init. Jangly guitars, spiky vocals, heartbeat-strict drums. Not bad, but not one I'm likely to return to to be honest.
Pretty boring.
An interesting pull, after a raft of boring, middle ground albums. To get it out of the way, I almost couldn't get past The Duchess. Dear God it's dreadful. Beyond that, a mix of ethereal pop, 'proper English' folk, jazz instrumentation, and some lovely drifting moments give this a good solid experience, a worthwhile addition to this project.
American Dream is somehow simultaneously the 4th/5th best output from LCD Soundsystem, and also better than most other albums, such is the quality of output.
