Vento De Maio by Elis Regina

Venting notes: This is super awesome and atmospheric. Insane lyrics paired with wonderful bossa nova instrumentals. Loving the jazz, loving the funkiness. I’m being actively blown away by this album. Especially the track O Medo De Amar. Just did some reading on her and she was an incredible woman too. Only amplifies the power of this album and her heart stopping vocals.

I don’t think I’m versed in jazz enough to give serious commentary, but I wasn’t necessarily blown away

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand

First track starting off strong. Love that build, so satisfying. Love a good name song, especially when it’s got such a good beat. Underwhelmed by that second song, but that’s alright it’s a nice intermission and set up for the main guns: Classic take me out. Hits every time. God that tempo change and riff take me outttt. Not as in love with matinee. Hard to follow take me out I suppose. Too repetitive with no real payoff. Auf asch is doing something different, especially with that strange guitar riff going off and those bell like piano licks. Would listen again but it was interesting. Nothing too special about this fire Darts of pleasure has some funny rhyme moments, but mostly seem kinda lazy. Just feels like a horny song with a predictable beat. Micheal I like, seems like something I would get down to in a crowd. I like how it gets super saturated with sounds that cuts out, so t gives you space to breathe. Like the intro to come on home a lot. Yeah cool song, super catchy and has a snarky side to it, multiple head nods during my listen. Yup dig that. Last track was unremarkable to me. I dig the vibe a lot, it can be a little incoherent at times, but you can’t deny that they hit when they hit.

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones

Starting off with in the best songs I have ever heard. Heart-stopping vocals, skin melting instrumentals throughout, mind blowing song. Mary Clayton making me see angels. Narratively driven. The second song in vain repeats things, but it only seems to add emphasis. Emotional and forlorn. The instrumental with Mick Jaggar’s wailing moves. Hell yeah country moment so fucking sick. Those mixed voices, real Johnny Cash charm. God it just keeps going. Hit after motherfucking hit. The keys and bass line on live with me really fuck. Not even halfway through and I want to give it a five out of five. Ok title track. TAKE MY ARM TAKE MY LEG OH BABY DONT YOU TAKE MY LEG. Midnight rambler probably my least fav, nothing much to say about it You got silver, nice folk rock jam thang. I dig it. Monkey man is fun, playful, sexy and super dynamic. I like it. So far I’m loving the crazy aspects of it. I feel like I’m falling and being swept up again. The track back at the farm is sticking out to me in that respect. I feel like I cannot be disappointed. It just keeps building on itself and getting better. Street joy is also a kind of melancholic yearning song that had a powerful pull to it. I’m intrigued by the slapping quick beat in the track anvil everything This album is deeply connected, but still has great variety. There is an aloofness to the song drug that I like. The repetitive riffs with the smashing cymbals rly brings out the creative baseline. A nice head bobber. Nice hook on Bess St. Whooo sick breakdown too. Wow, track is what it is builds in such a satisfying way. The chorus feels like a rewarding breakdown from the whispered build up in the earlier verse. Cute Johnny cash bop in that last track. Charming way to end the album. “What started out is my head, ended up in my fingers.” That’s beautiful.
