1001 Albums Summary

Very chill. Love the funky song structures and the poetic lyrics with a hint of dark. The big drum stuck out to me in parts. Some songs lost my interest in the middle. Album art is A+

The singles are still fun (especially Dirty Work) but something overall in the album just didn’t click for me today, like it felt too restrained or the vocals felt flat. Fading out the end of a song is also a pet peeve of mine and they do it on almost every track. Kings was a great new discovery, though.

Fun to hear more of a rock n roll version of punk, but often closer to spoken-word poetry than music, so more likely to end up on my attention-required slow-burn playlist than regular rotation. I was familiar with Gloria and Land (although not aware that the former is a cover, or that Van Morrison was in a band), so the funkier Redondo Beach was my favorite discovery, which would fit in really well on a Clash album.

Cool to see their harder side. Misfire and Tenement Funster were good finds.

Good energy. Efficient. Not much substance.

Some good guitar tones but the vocals felt very out of place. At least there was an instrumental track at the end.

Sobre solid jams on here but most of the vocals aren’t for me

Two completely different sides that both rule in different ways. Eno + industrial.

I’m sure the technical aspects are revolutionary but the vibes feel like I’m waiting in a Nordstroms.

Fantastic texture throughout. Can really see their influence in some of my favorite songs.

Not my favorite Clash album, but the one I needed right now.
