1001 Albums Summary

It's a nice listen. For some reason, I sort of didn't want to like it - some kind of prejudice against the idea of Pink Floyd and how they come across - but it's a really nice sounding piece of art.

What I love about 'One album A Day' is that it brings to light albums like this one, which I wouldn't otherwise have heard. Really rocky and enjoyable songs. Love the guitar and drums on 'Simple Man'. Simple but awesome groove.

Nice album. Rocks with good melodies.

Good raucous energy. I don't think the song-writing (or execution) is as amazing as some reviews suggest but it's a fun listen.

A pleasant enough lesson but I'll be sacrilegious and admit that aside from a handful of (excellent) Beach Boys songs, I find them and Brian Wilson good to listen to but not mind-blowing. Solid 3 stars, no more. ...Possibly 2 and a half as it does go on a bit.

I might just not be in the mood for it, but I find this album a bit annoying. All very samey and just goes on and on. Case in point: 'If I Like It, I Do it' - 4:52 of the same riff and inane words. Maybe on a different occasion it works better. 'Music of the Mind' is a good jazz piece, if you feel like jazz.

I love this album, especially the less sugary first side. The segue between the first few songs is sooo good

Interesting. Not something I'd want to revisit often. A bit too orchestral and ballady for me. Good songs, with slightly nasal, drooling delivery on vocals.

Atmostpheric, moody, interesting. Bit samey throughout.
