1001 Albums Summary

“Moondance” and “Into the Mystic” are the best tracks by far. Van Morrison is sometimes unintelligible and just goes, “blarghghghhhh waaaaaaa do do do” and there’s a good horn section backing him and a gospel choir - which I can see being a total vibe for some people but I just found it annoying

I hadn’t heard any of these songs before (except Take Me to the River). Listening to this album gave me the feeling of listening to a very good underground indie rock album today. My favorite parts were the bass lines and the rhythm guitar and David Byrne’s voice. I liked it!

Very cool album. Kate Bush is very imaginative. The ethereal, creepy tracks made me wonder what it would have been like to hear this album as a kid (probably SCARY). Seems like Bush didn’t care so much about commercial success as she did making music for the art of it, which I appreciate. I read that Bjork was influenced by Kate Bush and that makes so much sense.

I have never willingly listened to Black Sabbath so it’s no surprise that having to suffer through their debut album was less than enjoyable for me. I tried to imagine myself in 1970 hearing this new sound for the first time … I kind of get it, but also, I so don’t care

Other than “Walk on the Wild Side” I hate all the songs on this album. It sounds like Lou was high and drunk when he wrote these songs. They’re so annoying
