Space Ritual by Hawkwind
Jun 04 2025

This was a fun album by a band I knew nothing about. I could definitely hear the rock/punk/prog influences and how other artists would be influenced by them. I thought this was a really thought provoking album with interesting sounds. It is something I will definitely continue to listen to and I anticipate listening to more Hawkwind in the future.

Tapestry by Carole King
Jun 05 2025

Standard 1970s singer songwriter album. Nothing that noteworthy. A few hit songs that everyone knows. Won't revisit.

Machine Head by Deep Purple
Jun 06 2025

I can tell this is the seeds of hard rock and heavy metal. It was enjoyable enough with their most famous song on the album (Smoke on the Water). I may revisit in the future but there was nothing about this that spoke as artistic genius that I would need to revisit multiple times. Fine fun album. Good for a day at the cabin.

The Next Day by David Bowie
Jun 07 2025

I just can't get into David Bowie. I think this might be the first time I listened to an album all the way through. It was...fine. Sounded forgettable. I don't see myself going back to this album.

Moving Pictures by Rush
Jun 08 2025

A powerhouse of an album. The drums and bass are What sets these guys apart. Truly legendary

Illmatic by Nas
Jun 09 2025

I understand the importance but it just isn't an album I'll revisit very often.

Bad by Michael Jackson
Jun 10 2025

Debated between 4 and 5 but there are too many bangers to not give it a 5.

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
Jun 11 2025

A fine album from a Mali blues rock band with an interesting story

Jun 12 2025

Completely forgettable 1980s rock album. Won't be revisiting. I absolutely hated the mixing. Couldn't make out the singing at all.

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Jun 13 2025

Brian Wilson died yesterday. This is an album I hadn't heard before. Not quite a 5 star album but right below it. I definitely could see myself revisiting this and more of their catalog.

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Jun 14 2025

Ain't nothing wrong with this here album. A solid. SOLID. 4.

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Jun 17 2025

A wonderfully delightful album that is very pleasing to listen to.

The Pleasure Principle by Gary Numan
Jun 20 2025

Synth late 70s - early 80s. I've never liked this type of music. Debated between 2 and 3. Felt 2 was more appropriate.

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Jun 21 2025

Easy 5. One of the best.

In Our Heads by Hot Chip
Jun 22 2025

Non offensive electronic music.

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
Jun 24 2025

Janis sounds great

#1 Record by Big Star

Did nothing for me. Thought it'd be better. Has the theme song from that 70s show.
