T. RexNot a huge T. Rex guy tbh, outside of the big hits.

I started listening to a lot of Brazilian music this year and while I have been very familiar with The Girl From Ipanema obviously, I haven't gotten a chance to listen to this in full - yet. It's really good!
As someone, who's Dad is fully into the Dad Rock canon, I obviously listened to the full Doors catalogue before. While I do have a lot of sympathy for The Doors, I do think that a big part of their discography does sound a bit dated. I feel like The Doors are one of the Classic Rock bands, that aren't as beloved by younger generations as other acts, but I think their dark mysterious aura still works in most cases nowadays. Judging purely by the musical contents, this has to be their best album. The switch from the psychedelic sound to the more blues oriented songs was a good call and one can only wonder, what The Doors would have done, would Jim Morrison have lived longer. I think they would have faded into obscurity during the 1970s, because the concept of the band was just made to exist in the late 60s to very early 70s maximum. Also Riders On The Storm might be one of the best songs ever written.
I was listening to this today unrelated to the challenge, because we got the news of Brian Wilson's death yesterday. The title track is one of the most beautiful pieces ever written. May one of the most gifted musicians to ever do it rest easy. (Also fuck Mike Love and Student Demonstration Song. A lot about him can be summed up by how stupid this song is.)
As someone who grew up in the 2000s, I obviously know Time to Pretend, Electric Feel and Kids by heart, because they have been all over the radio in 2008/2009. I do feel like they are all part of the canon of 2000s commercial pop hits, that are also just really good songs. However I did not listen to the album, up until now, even though I am a pretty big fan of Little Dark Age. This is a good album, even though the drop in quality between the three hits and the rest is obvious.
While I do have some sympathies for Lenny Kravitz, this is kinda underwhelming? I get the vibe and inspirations this has, but it's just not doing so much for me, honestly
I am Nick Drake fan like the next music loving guy. Flawless catalogue (seems easy with only 3 albums, but they are truly all incredible). Releasing a debut album like this at 21 is truly one of a kind.
The first three Stooges albums, man. They are honestly mindboggling, especially considering when they were recorded. Just pure, raw power (pun intended).
I don't feel like talking much about Radiohead at the moment, but I like Amnesiac. I feel it often gets overlooked as Kid A's B-Side album.
You have got to be kidding me, two Radiohead albums in a row...
Best album of all time, opened my eyes
