Christine and the Queens
I didn't expect to like this album as much as I did or at all. Made me realise how much I had heard them throughout my childhood (especially tilted give it a listen if you havent already). The album was a mostly welcome blend of overproduced pop and 80s but by 5 songs became rather monotonous in its vibe. A good example of don't judge a book by its first 30 seconds. Was not a fan of their attempt at k-pop as it came across as rather jarring and forced and ruined the mostly fluid concept of the first half.

Deja Vu
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
What a line up of icons. Apart from of course Neil I think this was them at there best. Its a testament to their skill that it stands the test of time this well. Although not the best country album of all time it definitely sets the standard. Our house is by far the best especially considering the context with Jodie Mitchell.

The Jam
Brilliant album. Surprisingly progressive considering this was around the same time the cure was talking about "killing arabs". House on fire may be a little long but was a masterpiece in my mind. You can see the direction his music is taking and definitely progresses in his next album and band. Overall a short and sweet listening experience that deserves a golden star.

Buenas Noches From A Lonely Room
Dwight Yoakam
Don't know whether yoakam is a voyeur or recently caught his spouse cheating but either way his fascination with the topic throughout the album creeps me out. Bland rather surface level country but without any texture to the music either??? Atleast Morgan wallen manages to add some pizazz to his music. I cant speak on the context behind this album so I have no clue on the impact thr album has had on the industry otherwise seems a rather poor choice for this list.

Figure 8
Elliott Smith
What an amazing album. After researching more about Elliott the final prophetic song "Bye" made me tear up. Had to stop my work day just to focus on what was gracing my ears. Genuinely adored this bitter sweet labor of love. A sober and forlorn outlook on his life dominates this track list that reminds me of the equally as tragic Ian Curtis. Not a anytime listen due to its morose tone but definitely a beauty I will circle back to. Fly high king 🕊

Hearts And Bones
Paul Simon
Not a bad Simon album but like both of their solo stuff it just doesn't feel the same without their "other half". Not a fan of the lyrics either, some songs feel thought provoking and serious while others feel completely brain dead and satirical. Not bad Not great

Afrika Bambaataa
Incredibly important the dance genre obviously and the first to do what they do....but is it that great? Feels rather bland and vanilla in today's ever innovating dance scene. Interesting to listen to but overbearing sometimes in its production

What an amazing album. Potentially the best production of all time. What a masterpiece of flow, storytelling and downright deliciousness. Carried me through the last few years
