Multiple songs on the album revolve around the theme of infidelity. At least two of the songs (“Buenas Noches from a Lonely Room” and “What I don’t know”) actually go so far to suggest murder / violence against women for infidelity, which I hated. The guitar instrumentals across the album are really enjoyable. Stand out tracks for me were “I Got You” and “Floyd County”. “I Sang Dixie” seems to promote Confederacy (old times in cotton country) over “the streets in L.A.). “Hold on to God” is quite literally a gospel song. So lyrically nothing aged well on this record - confederacy, violence against women, and holding onto Christ.

Live And Dangerous by Thin Lizzy

Lynotts vocals carry most of the tracks on the record. In “Jailbreak” - Lynott yells “Breakout!” with the accompanying siren in an epic moment. The echo effects in “Massacre” are a great compliment to his energy, and “Dancing in the Moonlight” is a standout track. However, the dual guitars get stale outside of the more composed tracks.

I could not get into this. There were plenty of things I enjoyed though - “Zion” is one of best songs I’ve heard in awhile. The message of the album really resonated with me, and the skits were a fun add that added context to the whole album. Overall I thought the production was a little overstimulating and didn’t click with the majority of the songs. I like the bridge in “Ex-Factor” that’s a list of requests with the steady gospel notes. It’s a nice contrast. Zion is a standout track. Here the lyrical contrast stands out - I love the conflict. Superstar: “They’ll hail you, then nail you - no matter who you are” Harmonies in “I used to love him” are really nice. We listen to others - trust others too much. I didn’t really think the classroom sketches at the end of every track were that additive. They could have been used more sparingly.

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters

I can appreciate that this is one person, but as Dave Grohl said himself with this record he was “just f-ing around”. It feels weird to call this a foo fighters album and I just couldn’t get into any of the songs here. If I had to pick my favorite tracks here are “Big Me” and “Floaty”.

The Bends by Radiohead

I’m loving a lot of tracks on this. Lots of variety in every song, and “Fake Plastic Trees” is probably my favorite. “(Nice Dream)” and “Sulk” are other standout tracks. There’s elements in “(Nice Dream)” that sound like a preview of some later Kid A stuff, and everything here is exemplary of the kind of structure a Radiohead song has.

Maybe I’m missing the point, but I think it’s weird that the entire album is trying to get at some teenage nostalgia.+1 for some tight instrumentals, but I thought the vocals were annoying and i was happy when this one was done.

“Papa” was wonderful, I really enjoyed the progression of the song and the orchestral hooks. Favorite track is “Mother Nature”, and I also really enjoyed and “I ain’t got nothing”.
