Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Aug 13 2025

Honestly somewhat shocking how subversive some of the lyrics on this album are. Fast Car sucked up all the attention, and then you miss a lot of things like "Don't ya know? / They're talking about a revolution / It sounds like a whisper / Poor people gonna rise up / And get their share." Tell me, why do the babies starve? When there's enough food to feed the world Why when there are so many of us Are there people still alone? Why are the missiles called Peacekeepers When they're aimed to kill? Why is a woman still not safe When she's in her home?

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Aug 14 2025

I had a really hard time with this one. I can hear what is going to become the Stones that I know, but those early experiments in stereo sound are particularly jarring to me now.

American Idiot by Green Day
Aug 15 2025

This is like you asked Green Day to do Green Day but do it epic. There’s a lot to it, but it’s still a bunch of punks at heart.

Cloud Nine by The Temptations
Aug 18 2025

This is another one where the spatial stereo is just a little much. Interesting to hear two different kinds of drums in each ear. I have to imagine living when this is released and just blazed out of your mind on a shag carpet listening to the thing.
