Beautiful
Way too long, would probably cut 2-3 songs. Still a good time. Funky Monks and Sir Psycho Sexy are amazing. When the album hits, it HITS. Worst case scenario you get some funky Flea bass, goofy Anthony lyrics and a cool guitar solo from John. But play me a random song from the album and I there is 50% chance I will confuse it for some other song from their catalogue
Absolutely incredible (debut) album! Amazing production, songwriting, lyrics, vibe and pacing. Not one bad song. The weakest one is "Trying Your Luck" which contains the best solo of this album. I do wish that "When It Started" was included, but tbf I don't know where I would put it (before "Last Nite" maybe? Or after "Someday? Probably not). Julian with his amazing and kinda cryptic lyrics paints such beautiful pictures of love, envy, anger and "douchebagery". Personally, one of the best albums ever
I can see why this album is so loved, but U2 ain't really my type of rock.
