Although Bowie called it a plastic soul album, some sort of critique of celebrity and perhaps the warning of glossy celebrity sneaking god knows what in the mental loading dock

Absolutely safe, predictable, nothing-affirming, nothing-challenging Wurlitzer rock. Yawn.

Love me some afrobeat, and it's very interesting Nigerian history, but I played this album to death a couple of years ago

I'm sure it was influential at the time, but now it just sounds like fairly generic old punk
