Beauty And The Beat
The Go-Go'sI wasn’t familiar with the Go-Go’s before this album. I really enjoyed the blend of 70s punk and pop and could hear influences of both. Added to Library: Our Lips Are Sealed This Town Fading Fast

It’s impossible not to be at least somewhat familiar with Elvis. He was before my time, but I’ve always been aware of how influential and popular he was. I always thought his music was enjoyable, but it felt like the music of my parents, not me. I was vaguely familiar with one or two songs on this album, but I had never really sat down to listen to him until now. I’m glad I did. This album is great, and I found several songs to add to my library. I have a newfound appreciation for Elvis and look forward to exploring more of his discography. Added to Library: • Blue Suede Shoes • I Got a Woman • One-Sided Love Affair • Trying to Get to You • Blue Moon (Take 9/M)
It’s easy to recognize how insanely talented and influential Janis Joplin is. Maybe if I were in a different mood, time of life, or circumstance, I would enjoy this album more. But today I didn’t. With the exception of one song, this album didn’t capture my attention and I was looking forward to it being over. Of course, this is subjective, and if someone argued this is a five-star album, I couldn’t disagree. The musicianship is great. Her voice is iconic. I just didn’t enjoy it personally. Added to Library: • Me and Bobby McGee
This has been the most surprising album so far. When I saw today’s pick, I was disappointed. I thought yesterday’s album was boring, and I was dreading slogging through another. I knew of Adele and had heard a couple of her songs on the radio and in pop culture. I didn’t think I liked her, but I’ve been trying to approach each album with an open mind. The first song, Rolling in the Deep, came on. I already knew it from the radio, but it had never been a favorite. I assumed it would be the highlight of the album. The next song, Rumour Has It, seemed to confirm my suspicion that it was all downhill from there. I was very wrong. I started multitasking and mentally filed this as a “background music” album, until Turning Tables came on. A couple of minutes into it, I realized I was actually enjoying it. As the album went on, I liked each song more than the last. By the end, I had added several to my library. I decided to go back and listen again from the start. This time, even the songs I didn’t care for initially grew on me. By the end, I had added every single track to my library. Apparently, I like Adele, or at least this album. Added to Library: • All of them
I’m familiar with some of Nirvana’s music but this is my first time hearing the album in its entirety. I already knew a few of the songs. To be honest, I’m a little disappointed. I thought I would enjoy it more. I think Nirvana has better music out there. Still, I found several songs to add to my library. Although I’m not a huge Blues fan this was still a very enjoyable album. I don’t know a lot about blues or blues history but if I had to imagine what a highly regarded blues album sounded like, it would sound like this. I added the entire album to my library. A lot of the songs sound similar (I think that’s just the nature of Blues?) but they were all very good.
Added to Library: Love Her Madly Been down so Long Hyacinth House LA Woman Riders on the Storm
I’m not a big Bob Dylan fan but the more I listened to this album the more I found things I liked about it. It was a rainy dreary day and this album matched it well in my opinion. I still wouldn’t call myself a fan but I do have more appreciation for his music now and I think I understand the appeal. There are a few decent tracks, most of the album is pretty forgettable however. Added to library: Into the Fire Waitin On A Sunny Day You’re Missing
Over the years I've tried several times to get into The Beatles without much luck. This album did not change anything for me. I guess I just don't like The Beatles that much. The album is however nice and short and there are a few decent and/or memorable songs and a few that I was already familiar with. Added to Library: A Hard Day's Night Tell Me Why Can't Buy Me Love Any Time At All I'll Be Back
Added to library: Tiny Dancer Levon Goodbye
Added to Library: Holidays In The Sun God Save the Queen Anarchy in the UK
I don’t know how seriously I’m supposed to take this album. Maybe this would be tolerable if I were watching a musical at a dinner theater and these were the songs they were singing, but as an album to listen to? Nah. The lyrics are cringe worthy, the singing is too dramatic and over the top. Maybe I’m missing some context or something but I did not enjoy this. Added to Library: The Part You Throw Away
Great album! Really enjoyed this one. Added almost every song to my library.
It’s pretty good background music while I’m working or doing other things. As a whole it’s not bad but none of the songs stand out to me.
Kinda boring. Definitely of its time. A couple good tracks but overall not really my cup of tea. Added to library: Big Exit
The more I listened to it the more I liked it. Added to library: Secrets In Your House Three A Forest M At Night
