This just isn't for me. I don't know how to define my dislike. The songs are not powerful or emotional. They just drone on like background music. The band has some neat openings, and a few nice jams, but most of the time they are just there for noise.
I found myself bored. With the exception of 1 or 2 songs.
It reminds me a lot of "musicals" or "theater". If you like those things you might like this.
Wow this album is so unique. Patti has a "voice" that is quite different and might annoy some with her whining and exploring her vocals but I quite like it.
The songs that shine on this album really shine. The songs that don't are still interesting to listen to.
I'm compelled to listen to this one again, but next time in a better setting so I can really focus on the lyrics.
There's a reason this album hit big. It's unique and so much fun. For me, personally, it's about 90% amazing and 10% awkward. It's an experience. I can see why it would be listed as a must-listen.
This is an easy one. I own this album. Definitely brings back memories of my teenage years since I was 14 when this came out.
Even though the singing is a lot of the same (he has a unique voice), meaning every song has the same tone, somehow they change up the music and lyrics in a way that doesn't get boring. I think this is why they hit so big when they came out.
This is one of those few albums where every song is good.
Oh wow, I know every song already because I've been listening to this album for years. There's really no bad songs. I'll listen to every single one and be happy about it the whole time.
Not really my style, but wow are some of these songs catchy. It's hard to ignore.
So I had never heard of this band before, but then I realized they have several classics that I had heard many times.
It's funny how many of these songs I've heard as covers by other bands and didn't even realize it.
It's very oldies sounding, but I have mad respect for them due to how they forged the future of rock.
Well, it's Elton John. Not really my thing. I can understand why people like it. It's very melodic, calming, and in a way, interesting to listen to, until I got bored. I got bored pretty fast because every song is kinda the same with different words.
This is like simcity background music. I love it. After a while I do need to hear something different, but overall it's quite enjoyable.
This is some crazy, but fun, music to listen to. Also, it makes me feel like I'm running some kind of underground club from the 1920's when people walk into my office from the "normal world".
It might go on my normal rotation.
I can see why people like this, but it's not really for me. It has that oldies feel and I'm not into that.
Wow, what a beautiful voice, though.
Beautiful music, but also makes me want to fall asleep on a rainy day. That's not necessarily a bad thing, if you are in that mood.
Neil Young is very focused on lyrics. Also not a bad thing. However, it means you won't get much in the instrumental department. If you're into instruments it could be disappointing.
The songs that he tries to go upbeat are the worst songs. Stick to the slow stuff, Neal.
I can see why this album was considered a mess when it came out. It kind of is. I'm sure it has a lot of meaning, but I can't get past the odd singing voice and lack of emotion. The words might have emotion, but he voice just doesn't.
Couldn't really listen to this for more than 10 minutes, and I forced myself to try. The lyrics are so stupid and the music is boring.
It's like Lou thinks he can sing, but he can't. Then everyone else thinks he can sing too, for some reason, so he made a bunch of people like him, and all he does is ramble on with music going on in the background.
So, I know this one is controversial. I'm not actually sure how I feel about the guy. I was born the same year he died. I've done some reading and I'm still not sure about him. He doesn't seem like someone I'd like to know.
However the album, to someone like me who doesn't know much about Lennon, is good. The music is good. It sounds nice. I can't give it a bad rating simply because half the world hates the guy. I'm rating the album only, not the person behind it.
It's not perfect. It does get a bit boring after a while. But overall it's nice to listen to.
I can see why this album has caused a lot of influence. I "like" it. I think. But after a while I became bored of it simply because all the songs sound so similar.
Respect, but meh.
I like the doors, but all their albums have bad spots along with good spots. That doesn't make it bad. Albums without bad spots are far and few, and end up being the greatest of all.
For me this album has about 6 good songs out of the 11.
