1001 Albums Summary

Starts off great, ends great. Instruments great, harmonies great (Deja Vu gave me goddamn chills). CSN(Y) - at their best when “helpless”? Almost Cut My Hair - the music started and I was like WOOOOOOOO WHAT A BOP! And then the lyrics began and I felt differently lol. I barely ever listen to lyrics, but this was so jarring!!! Yes counterculture, but I am certain it can be done less cringily lol. Lost points for this one, but also rounding so 🤷🏿‍♀️.

First half of the album is perfection. JJ’s growl NOURISHED me. Flower in the Sun also made me feel some type of way. That little guitar part - dododo dododo + the vocals + the bass, ok let’s be serious ALL OF THE PIECES come together to make magic. Also, also she died on Oct. 4…. Was I her in a past life????????????

What a great listening experience! Special shout out to the flute and the back-up vocalists! Who or what is Jelly Roll though? And Glad Tidings should be called Brown Eyed Girl: Reprise (I’m not complaining, it’s a bop 🤗).

Magnificent. Grandiose. The musical equivalent of “that drama kid” - it’s just so extra. And yet it’s perfect. I am realizing there is nothing I like more in life than some “disco strings”. BB, you are a close second.
