Imagine by John Lennon
Nov 11 2025

I know enough to understand this as an important piece of musical history. I think it is musically a good album but it is largely not to my own subjective sensibilities. Wikipedia labels this as a rock album. I think I need to do some digging into the roots of rock music. This is an album where I can kind of see how rock became the genre it is today.

That's The Way Of The World by Earth, Wind & Fire
Nov 12 2025

Again, not my genre but a musically good album. However, it has Africano on it which is nostalgic for me as a UW HMB alum. I have to say the marching band version is a lot more exciting, though. Wikipedia classifies this as a soul / funk album. Totally makes sense.

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Nov 13 2025

This is the third 70’s album that this generator has given me in 3 days. I’m starting to think 70’s music is just a little too lowkey for me but maybe it’s just the genres.

Tapestry by Carole King
Nov 18 2025

Off the bat i just like the sound of this more than the other albums I’ve had so far. Maybe because it’s pop, it feels more approachable. Idk.

Want Two by Rufus Wainwright
Nov 19 2025

Only know mr Wainwright from singing the hallelujah cover featured in Shrek. This album was alright but a little sleepy from listening to it all in one sitting. The songs all felt very similar. I did like the Art Teacher.

Tanto Tempo by Bebel Gilberto
Nov 21 2025

I was already sleepy when starting this album but I guess I can’t be mad. The kind of thing I’d expect to be playing in a dimly lit cafe with a lot of plants inside.

Stankonia by OutKast
Dec 02 2025

A longer one. I’ve been meaning to catch up on music i was too young to listen to when it came out. Actually, this album is older than I am by a couple months. It’s fine. I can move my head to it.

Broken English by Marianne Faithfull
Dec 05 2025

Maybe again because it sounds a little more modern, liked this one more than others I’ve listened to so far.

1977 by Ash
Dec 10 2025

I feel like singers used to blend in with the instruments more pre-2000s. Even in this very rock album the singing seems to blend a lot more with the instruments than they do now. I liked the instrumentals though.

Uh… it’s okay I guess. Is Sixteen supposed to be weird?
