Nun too crazy but you can't ever hate that. The strokes comp is there (ironically, the frontwoman's dad was also the head of a company), this one got a rawness to it. Would listen again.
Fav song Stutter
Not on streaming so I opted to listen to "Fats Domino Swings."
Very fun, I can't imagine someone listening to this and finding a reason to hate.
Fav song: Blueberry Hill
at least it doesn't take itself serious
fav song: bat out of hell ig
oh my god what an album. the crowd really makes it and helps multiply sam's stage presence.
best live album ever?
one of the best jazz albums. creates a seamless and smooth environment like no other. it doesn't even feel like jazz, or music.
fav song: shhh / peaceful
oh my goodness it's the epitome of a summer break. not only groundbreaking but just as warm and fuzzy as 1989.
fav song: eye know
Very smooth album just as all other Massive Attack albums. Nothing crazy, just as all other Massive Attack albums (don't kill me I have to relisten to Mezzanine)
Fav song: Sly
unbelievable vocals, the whole album feels like trying to be content with yourself
it's very nice to see how much house has evolved as a genre.
groove is in the heart is some crazy shit though
Interesting in very very brief spurts. I can hardly recall this album the day after.
what an album. been a minute since i played it front to back but whew. textbook example of how to create atmosphere within an album. almost haunting, from the Beth Gibbons' voice to the sampling to the spins to the DRUMS oh my god the drums. Trip Hop or not, this album is nuts.
I'm quite willing to say this album is perfect, I don't think there's much coming close to it anywhere.
fav song: Glory Box
i did enjoy this, it makes me wanna go back to the last two talk talk albums and see if i had missed something
Probably the first album of this experiment I am grateful to have discovered from the list.
Very much enjoyed this, when compared to the synth pop around this time this feels much less stiff in it's composition, everything naturally flows together in this.
If I wanted to be a dick I'd say this is like a 7.5/10 but whateva
Fav song: Souvenir / Maid of Orleans
does anyone in the world disagree when i say this is the definitive metal album??
fav song: iron man
these are deadass the worst lyrics i've ever heard holy shit. i would bet a good bit of money that the ones who defend these lyrics are the same ones who say that "mumble rap" is a purge on society. the guitar work is the only thing saving this album but apparently they stole riffs as well.
