1001 Albums Summary

Could be the best songs put together as a package. Most artists would love to have this repertoire of hits their entire career. Let alone a single album. Legendary album. And for good reason. Blues, piano, pop, and ballads. Just a great combination of songs.

Some solid b sides throughout to complement Take Me Out. Art Punk throughout with some blues mixed in. Standout however here is The Dark of the Matinee which takes the rating for me from a 3 to a 3.5. Good album.

Not a flaw in any song let alone any note that is played. People will need headphones to listen to this properly and appreciate the beautify in it. 4.7

I feel this album is the genesis of all future Queens albums to come. Not an album full of singles but rather you can feel how the piano and synthesizers are evolving into a future influential hall of fame sound. 3.5.

This is the kind of album that will make you stop what you are doing and groove to the music. Every song highlights the musical genius of the artist whether it is on a guitar, piano, poet or vocals. It is the quintessential soundtrack to a movie. Or was the movie perfect for the album? 4.9. Can’t get closer to a more complete album.

I’m not overly into this album but I can see with the right hallucinogenics this could be a 3. Just depends on the drug. Meh. 2.5
