Moon Safari by Air
Nov 27 2025

Bit too "easy listening" for what I'd usually listen too but never heard them other than recognising sexy boy. The last song was the highlight of the album for me but unlikely to be something I seek out again

Nov 28 2025

Much better than I thought it was going to be. I always associated this album with the indie sound of the time coming from The Kooks and Razorlight. Particularly liked 'Perhaps Vampires is a bit strong but..' although there were no real duds.

Really good production and I'd never heard any of these songs. Felt very erotic in a good way and the R&B complimented it really well. Particularly liked Prom, The Weekend and 20 Something.

Take Me Apart by Kelela
Dec 02 2025

Didn't really grab me as much as I thought it was going too but I liked the electronic sound that accompanied it

Meat Puppets II by Meat Puppets
Dec 03 2025

I really couldn't get into this and couldn't really put my finger on why. My favourite songs tended to actually be the instrumentals as I wasn't a fan of the vocal style which feels a bit hypocritical as someone into a lot heavier music with even more questionable vocals in some people's eyes.

xx by The xx
Dec 04 2025

I never liked this sound when it was popular but tried to give this album a chance. However the weak vocals coupled with the weaker instrumentals just came across really bland and gave me no interest in listening to it for a second time.

From Elvis In Memphis by Elvis Presley
Dec 05 2025

Pleasantly surprised while also feeling like similar artists of the time (Roy Orbison) would have nailed some of the slower songs better. However enjoyed it throughout really with no real duds

Cypress Hill by Cypress Hill
Dec 08 2025

Not a bad album and a good debut with some real hits but it seems clear how much better they got with subsequent releases. "How I could just kill a man" and "Hand on the pump" were standouts for me

White Light / White Heat by The Velvet Underground
Dec 09 2025

Never actually listened to these before but I was aware of their Andy Warhol album so I was quite excited going in. However I just couldn't get past what felt like messy instrumentals and slurred vocals. Maybe it was just the style of the time and I can see how in a time of very "clean" music it could be viewed as a bit rebellious but I really struggled to enjoy any of it.

Dec 10 2025

Surprised I'd never heard of these before but I was really impressed with the sound of this considering the age of the album, especially compared to the velvet underground album from yesterday that was 2 years later

School's Out by Alice Cooper
Dec 11 2025

With the title track feeling a bit overplayed to me I wasn't sure what the album was going to be like but I was actually really impressed but also surprised by the West Side Story influences. Alma Mater was my stand out track as I was into the sound and the vocals managed to remind me of the Beatles but also of the sort of thing I could expect from Mike Patton

Peter Gabriel 3 by Peter Gabriel
Dec 12 2025

Never listened to any of his solo work before but I quite enjoyed this. The synth-guitar had a good sound to it but I also couldn't get my head around how much he sounded like Phil Collins? The final track was quite odd in comparison to most of the album but not bad
