1001 Albums Summary

Never heard the whole album before, but Passing Me By and Your Mamma are classics.

Can definitely tell where Ride got their sound.

Common is so underrated. A bit too much homophobia for my liking in a couple of the tracks but eh, it's a product of its time. We learned and got better.

This is an album that has held up, erm, Very well. I got it shortly after it came out and it was fresh, and now it just sounds like a good friend. Almost timeless.

Love the 80s Edgerunner drums.

Took awhile to find as it's not on Apple Music (found it on Youtube) I know nothing of Qawwali so this is speaking in a secular way- he's got a beautiful voice and the music is joyful

YES. This is my favorite offering by Bob Mould. Still sounds fresh today. One of my Desert Island Discs.

I love the vocal harmonies, just not really my favorite style of music. I can see why it's a classic and I still hear Suite, Judy Blue Eyes on the radio.

Forced vibrato, Dylan-esque vocals, bland music.

I mean it doesn't get any more classic for Gen X than this album. Arguably their best release. Musically everything is on point and meshes well. Songwriting is perfect and vocals weave nicely in and out of the synth lines. The song Little 15 has always given me the ick though.

Reminiscent of Klaus Nomi in places. Giving it five stars because it is well done, but it's not my cup of tea.

NOW we're talking. One of the best albums to come out of the post-punk era (though I hesitate to call Siouxsie post-punk as their work is a very broad spectrum)

Blur, Oasis, and Pulp should be severely punished for the onslaught of Britpop. Not saying all Britpop is bad, but *points at album*

I love the storytelling in this, but absolutely hate the flow. I blame growing up in Atlanta for that. Still worth listening to.
