Having only listened to Mr. Brightside, I had high hopes for this album and it delivered. I loved the tone of the guitar and the singer's voice. Definitely an album to listen to on a long drive with your windows down. Bonus that there was a song with my name in it!
Fun listen. Two songs (Rio, Hungry Like the Wolf) that I had definitely heard before but didn't know they were from this album or by Duran Duran. My mom loved this band and I can see why, they have a very 80s sound, and this album specifically had some fun sonic decisions and sounds. Probably liked Hungry Like the Wolf best, but the Chaffeur was fun.
Kind of faded into background noise for me after a while unfortunately. The lyrics might have been interesting but I did stop paying attention. Not a bad album by any means, just not my favorite.
Good music, fun rhythms and nice instrument tones. Definitely more background music for me than anything though.
I liked this album! Especially the last song In the Backseat, the vocals were raw and the tone was different than the rest of the album. Probably not something I would listen to again, but worth at least one listen through!
It is always a joy when albums are cohesive pieces of art. I thoroughly enjoyed the transitions between songs and the general groove of this album.
Impactful lyrics for this point in my life. Felt like a cozy roadside tea party with uncle Iroh.
I actually really liked this album! Varied instrumentals and vocals, some completely instrumental songs too.
A lot of fun songs on here. I've never fully listened to a Madonna album before, so this actually introduced me to a whole new side of her music. I enjoyed it, would listen again!
What a goofy and fun album. Didn't know Our House was by them! I enjoyed it - probably wouldn't listen to it all the way through again but maybe some specific songs. If I could give it a 3.5 I would.
This was interesting, a lot of different sounds and experiments, I liked it! Probably won't listen to most of it again but definitely a few songs I want to come back to.
I really wanted to like this - beats and production were really good but I can't get past the UK rap accent unfortunately. Shutdown was good though.
I really liked the style of and guitars on this album. It's very blues, but if you're in the mood for it, you're in the mood for it, and I sure was.
Great album, two popular classics right off the bat and a lotta good songs. Lyrics meant something, each song had something to say, and I didn't really mind the skits. I liked So Fresh So Clean and Ms Jackson obviously but I also liked Spaghetti Junction and B.O.B. - Bombs over Baghdad. OutKast really had a talent for making hiphop hooks. They're so fun to sing along to that you forget you're singing about a man who will never get to be a part of his kid's life because of the way his relationship with his bm fell apart and he can only watch from the sidelines as his kid grows up.
I got to the end of I Remember Me and was so close to turning off the music and throwing myself from the car. I liked the guitar, but the vocals truly I could not get past. I don't think I was depressed enough for this album. "my horse's legs look like 4 brown shotguns"?? okay man maybe you need to see somebody about that.
It got better after that, just about cried from relief that Transylvania Blues was instrumental - that was my favorite track.
Some of the lyrics were good but some were just massive stinkers.
Good ol fashioned folk. Not incredible, but not bad.
I mean this has GOT to be a hell yeah, no? Great classic christmas album, Darlene Love is singing the house down, it's christmas today, the stars have aligned - happy holidays gang!
