Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Dec 31 2025

Instrumental heavy, very soothing. Vibe changes a lot. Started off with overlooking city lights from top of a hill feeling. But changed to super orchestral, dark room with vibrant yellow lights feeling. Some Euphoria church vibes too. Banjo use also slows down the album midway. A lot going on musically in every song tho. Made me go to the John Wayne Gacy Jr. wikipedia only to learn that prior to the murders, he had already been convicted for a terrible crime but only served 18 months of his 10 year imprisonment. Did not like that. Personally, it changes tones a bit too much for me to really look at this as something I would want to listen to completely in 1 sitting as an album. 3.5/5

Grace by Jeff Buckley

Lots going on Sometimes very larger than life feel. Hallelujah Made me Google John Wayne Gacy to get even more gruesome details. Did not like that. Also felt all over the place so didn’t give me that album feel.

Midnight Ride by Paul Revere & The Raiders
Jan 16 2026

Very vibes Was moving furniture while listening to it and didn’t even realize the album had finished. All songs blend real well. Nostalgia for a time I didn’t live.

Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake
