Very all over the place, sometimes to its own deficit. Almost a little bit like a portrait of all the different kinds of music that were around in the late 60s. You’ve got big string arrangements, early synths, all this other stuff that is very of its time. “Mrs Robinson” is the obvious highlight. Nice enough listen.
I liked it. Don’t think that i got nearly as much out of it as I could have, but still a good time. Production sounds great, even 60 years later. I was really happy when this showed up for my second day as it’s something I’ve been meaning to check out for a very long time. Going to relisten at some point for sure.
He’s got a great voice, and you can just feel the energy he has on stage through the recording. Backing band is pretty great, but the music also isn’t really my cup of tea. Still cool though
Really liked this actually. Did for me what James Brown didn't. Like I don't think that there were any bad tracks on this. Definitely going to revisit this at some point on a chill day at some point.
Cool guitar solos, but otherwise sounds a little bit samey.
All the songs are just Van Morrison singing randomly with pretty much no sense of melody. I guess I didn’t hate the flute and acoustic guitar backing. Those songs did not need to be that long.
Pretty great. Went a lot wider sonically than I expected. Definitely might relisten at some point.
Radiohead's first signs of their later greatness. This is the first album in the project that I've heard before. Really love their touch on Britpop/90s alt rock.
Relentlessly quirky, which I thought I would hate but I actually didn’t hate it. It’s got some pretty good hooks
I thought it was pretty good! You can really hear the DNA of albums like this in a lot of more modern indie rock and punk albums.
Eh. Everything sounded the same. I think I’m going to have to listen to a lot more of albums that sound like this before this is done.
I like Wilco enough. However, this was just too long and bland.
Had very low hopes for this after seeing the album cover but liked it more than I expected. I guess 60s pop just vibes with me.
Really really fantastic. I’d been meaning to listen to this for a really long time and it totally lived up to expectations and then some. Didn’t really expect it to sound so modern. It feels like it could’ve come out recently. Glad to have a new 5/5
Very witty and snarky. Has a sound totally of its time but still great. Some fantastic breakup songs.
Lofi as hell. There were some better moments, but also some absolute earape at some points.
Alright. I do think that they used the same backing melody a few times though. Fairytale of New York is a god-tier Christmas song.
Really great. I like Beach House, so I knew that I was going to like it but it beat my expectations for sure.
