To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar
Jan 12 2026

Just a completely full album from start to finish.

Different Class by Pulp
Jan 13 2026

Look, here's the thing. This album is diverse. It's interesting. I don't know what it is about Jarvis Cocker, but his voice annoys me. I can't explain it and I won't and you can't make me. The closest I will come is he feels like Brit-Pop Brendon Urie at times with the overly theatrical vocals. That isn't the comparison anyone is hoping for. Except Brendon Urie, of course, who I'm sure would be pumped with the comparison.

Back In Black by AC/DC
Jan 14 2026

Is it good? It depends on your definition. No, I don't think it's an artistic masterpiece. It's not thought provoking, it probably won't lead to any life-changing epiphanies, it certainly isn't the work of some poet laureate. That being said, if you viscerally HATE this album, you're most likely being a snob that only hates it because so many other people love it. I think it's a fun album and I think that's probably what AC/DC was going for. Turn off the pretensions and there's plenty of solid guitar work to enjoy.

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
Jan 15 2026

Does sound a little bit dated. That makes sense since there are essentially no hip hop albums that sound modern 35 years later. That being said, there aren't a lot of hip hop albums approaching middle age that still stand up as a great project.

C'est Chic by CHIC
Jan 16 2026

This album is not intended for me. I feel awkward dancing and, using context clues, they seem to really want you to dance. It does liven up a Thursday morning replying to emails though. Is that as good? I liked Savoir Faire. It's a skilled instrumental track. I'm also 95% certain this album set the record for most times chic has been said on an album, so that's something of note.

Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake
Jan 17 2026

It can be a little one note. It is, however, a very pretty one note and one I will be revisiting.

Crocodiles by Echo And The Bunnymen
Jan 18 2026

This one feels a little forgettable. It's good, but it just turns into background music.

Elvis Is Back by Elvis Presley
Jan 19 2026

This is most certainly music.

Crosby, Stills & Nash by Crosby, Stills & Nash
Jan 23 2026

You know those albums that you know are objectively good, but you don't want to listen to them? I can't find a bad thing to say about this album. But if someone asked if I had the opportunity to listen to it again, I wouldn't care at all.
