1001 Albums Summary

Very vibe driven; not musically driven. Kind of creepy/scary which I'm not the biggest fan of. The barking was a choice. "Watching You Watching Me" is a standout for me - the production sounds kind of Indian. "Jig of Life" feels Sinners coded. The second half of the album definitely feels a lot more special than the first. But I wouldn't listen again, a little too weird for my tastes. 2/5

This album is the epitome of what I think 70s music is. Amazing harmonies, folky, kind of meandering. 3/5

I liked this way more than I thought I would. My first dip into "punk". Standouts for me were: "Arabian Knights", "Halloween", and "Monitor". 4/5

Reference point is "The White Album" essay by Joan Didion. "Been down so long" feels appropriative. Rangers on the Storm is an epic album closer. Feels very correct to drive around LA to this album
