Listened to this in full recently (ish) once before owing to 'Excursions' featuring in the most memorable scene in the TV adaptation of Station 11 (great book and series, go read and watch!)
Listened while doing some schoolwork today and really enjoyed most of beats feeling pretty lo-fi. Lyrics are playful in spots and make me stop to listen in others (hello Mr. Busta Rhymes) because of the energy pumping into my ears.
Really enjoy that all the contributors have very distinct voices. Love the hooks and samples. Love the jazz that's mixed in in spots. Great album!
Have heard a couple of songs off this album before and like them (Hurt, Closer, March of the Pigs, Piggy)
Some of the heavier stuff isn't for me but I can see why this would be considered a great album. Feels like it was using a lot of sounds and effects that very few albums and bands of it's time were.

I, surprisingly to me, haven't heard a lot of these songs. My dad was more of a (old style not racist) country aficionado when I was little. That and Irish trade and rebel songs.
They're good though. Fun. Some make little to no sense lol
Definitely a lot of drugs involved in this particular album.
Jaunty stuff though. Liked listening while doing schoolwork AND bringing the hidden litter box cabinet up from the basement (we're getting 2 new cats in a few days (this is going to be a fun time capsule at some point!))

I liked this better than Soundgarden. Chunky rock in places, experimental sounds in others. Definitely my preference for older rock.

I did't really like this. It just sounds very same same. Generic stadium rock but like soooooo generic.
Beautiful album. Joni's voice conveys so much emotion. California and Carey are great. River is one of my favourite Christmas songs, like top 5, for sure.
I mean, Amy's voice is obviously incredible and I love the sound. I always have to be in a certain mood for her style though, so some of these are hit and some are miss. She was so cheeky though, decent few lines got smiles out of me on this listen!
I like the UNdertones but this kind of morphed into the background of whatever I was doing. Irish though so they get and extra star lol
I mean the Beastie Boys are the Beastie Boys, aren't they. It's perfection. The samples go crazy. The genre switch ups are mega. LOVE.
Loved this. Bruce is an unreal story teller. I must try and see him before he hangs the guitar up. Not for $500 though
I mean, I've been listening to this album for 22 years. It was foundational in my music education. And it obviously predated the lead single becoming the de-facto stadium anthem worldwide. One of the first albums that let me see an artist being pure experimental and obviously the vague siblings or lovers? story was compelling af. Saw them live at Oxegen.
Pretty run of the mill rock album. Liked some of the sounds they mixed in and had an absolutely amazing night at one of their gigs in Detroit in 2019. Their bangers are bangers. Their album filler is still better than Soundgarden IMO. Not important but when the album ended it also played R.L. Burnside's Someday Baby, which I had on my liked songs already, but hadn't listened to in YEARS, and it's a fuckin' BANGER.
Really liked this. Couple of the songs were familiar to me but I dunno if I could have ever told you who sang them. Very chilled vibes but mixed up the sounds. Obviously reminiscent of the Beach Boys/ Beatles.
