Remain In Light by Talking Heads
Jan 29 2026

This album is quite experimental and perhaps a little above my head but I enjoyed it in general. Once In A Lifetime is of course, a legendary single but the rest of the album is musically interesting.

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Jan 30 2026

The percussion on this album is amazing. Walk This Way was a pathway for metal-heads like myself and it’s not the only great guitar lick here, see the title track, Raising Hell. Hit It Run has some great early beat-boxing. It’s just an all around great album.

The Man Machine by Kraftwerk
Jan 31 2026

It’s hard to believe this came out in 1978. So much of this feels like a precursor to the 80’s New Wave sound. I guess that’s because it was. SpaceLab immediately shoots up to be one of my favorite tracks. It doesn’t all work but most of it does. 4 out of 5.

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Feb 01 2026

A good fusion of classic jazz and latin beats. I liked it although I would have to be in the right mood for it. Of course, this album could just put me in the right mood.

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Feb 03 2026

Never listened to the Pixies in high school but I had no music taste back then. I can hear why they are an influence to grunge bands in the 90’s

Feb 05 2026

Last Of The Steam-Powered Trains is real toe-tapper. I am surprised this album wasn’t received better at the time but concept albums were a new thing then. For the rest of the album, I was not the biggest fan.
