1001 Albums Summary

Need a deeper listen. The songwriting, lyrics are layered and her voice is strong but there is a very bland acutely 90s feel to the backing instruments especially the bass. Feels like I'm watching 'Friends'.

Didn't like the cover of walk on by, but the other tracks are grand.

I'll have to give this another listen. It was growing on me. I'd stop and listen if I passed them live at a festival. The playing is tight, they know what they're doing. Not really my go-to vibe though, especially the vocals.

I knew of Black Sabbath and recognised the odd line or riff but only really sat down and listened to this album a couple of years ago and I hadn't realised how good the band are are. Great album top to bottom, no skips. Love the psychedelic elements. Fast becoming one of my favourite albums.

Well this was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. Never heard of this band or album before, but this was awesome* I'm a sucker for psychedlia, so album is a welcom addition to my collection. N.B. The 2006 version stereo mix on Apple music is absolutely awful in headphones, the instrument separation (80% in one ear) was so jarring and distracting I couldn't listen. I'm not sure whether the original sounded like this. Once I forced my computer audio to mono it was a pleasure to enjoy. I later managed to find a copy of the 2013 delux remaster. Funnily enough, over speakers I prefer the 2013 stereo mix. I'd like to give it 4.5 but that's not an option, I want to listen again stoned and imagine I'm at Woodstock. Could creep up to a 5 with more listening.

What's up with his voice? I don't like.

Sooo drab. Do people really enjoy this bland generic crap? There is no feling in this and it makes me feel nothing except bored.

Essential Album. Mostly brilliant. Needs more Grace.

It's all very clever musically, it's a shame Thom's voice grinds my gears, only so much of it i can take.
