Running Up That Hill - 8.5/10
Hounds Of Love - 7/10
The Big Sky - 7/10
Mother Stands For Comfort - 9/10 (wow that's a really big surprise from the amount of streams it has!)
Cloudbusting - 9.5/10
And Dream Of Sheep - 8/10
Under Ice - 7/10
Waking The Witch - 4/10 (what is going on)
Watching You Without Me - 5/10 (its not bad, im just bored)
Jig Of Life - 7.5/10 (Very different to the rest of the album, kind of unexpected but I'm not complaining)
Hello Earth - 9/10 (I actually don't feel like this song drags despite it's runtime, I like the melancholy feeling it gives and the creepy sound of it all, fits really well)
The Morning Fog - 8/10 (Good song but this feels like it should've been before "Hello Earth" on the album? That song felt way more like a closer than this, and even ended perfectly. Weird way to end it but good album nonetheless)
Don't Stop 'Till You Get Enough - 9/10 (A tad too long, but I mean it's still incredible)
Rock With You - 11/10 (Do I even have to say anything)
Workin' Day and Night - 10/10
Get on the Floor - 10/10
Off The Wall - 12/10 (One of my favourite MJ songs ever)
Girlfriend - 9.5/10 (Really fun calmer track, and I am a sucker for those)
She's Out of My Life- 9/10 (Really nice ballad)
I Can't Help It - 9.5/10 (A bit repetitive but still amazing)
It's the Falling in Love- 9.5/10
Burn This Disco Out - 10/10
While not the best MJ album, for a "first" album this is genuinely so good oh my lord. 5/5
Invaders - 7/10 (Good song, but nothing too crazy about it and the chorus is a little silly for me)
Children of the Damned - 8.5/10
The Prisoner - 8.5/10 (Loved how the intro worked itself into the song, really fun chorus)
22 Acacia Avenue - 8/10 (Purely because that instrumental at the end was incredible)
The Number of the Beast - 9/10 (Really liked the instrumental on this, I'm surprised I never heard an Iron Maiden song because this and the next song have loads of streams)
Run to the Hills - 8.5/10 (Okay I have actually heard this one, I mean it's a classic not much I can say other than that)
Gangland - 6/10 (Not bad but the vocals seem weirdly off beat at times in this song, the instrumental saves it as it's, once again, really good.)
Hallowed Be Thy Name - 9.5/10 (Best song on the album, best instrumental, I love how long the song is it makes for a great experience and a great closer to a very good album.)
Album cover gives it bonus points as well.
4/5
Welcome To The Working Week - 5/10 (It's this low because it's just a short intro song, but I'm getting heavy Billy Joel vibes from this so I'm excited)
Miracle Man - 6/10
No Dancing - 6.5/10
Blame It On Cain - 5/10 (I'm gonna be honest, these songs aren't bad! But I feel bad giving them scores any higher than these because I'm really not enjoying this album THAAAT much at least so far? It's kind of just eh)
Alison - 8.5/10 (Okay this song I really like actually this is a calm little tune)
Sneaky Feelings - 7/10 (This one is really fun)
(The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes - 6.5/10 (This sounds like B list Billy Joel, like if I wanted this vibe I would never listen to this, I'd just put on Billy Joel, but again! Not that bad!)
Less Than Zero - 6/10 (This whole album sounds the same so far, apart from Alison, which is probably why I like that song so much! I'm not a big fan of samey albums, which is ironic considering I gave Iron Maiden a 4/5 yesterday but THAT ALBUM WAS AT LEAST FUN!!)
Mystery Dance - 7/10 (This sounds just like "Great Balls of Fire", like almost exactly, but I mean that's a great song and this one is pretty fun too! Too short tho!)
Pay It Back - 6/10
I'm Not Angry - 7.5/10 (Actually sounds different compared to the rest of the album, gets bonus points for that!)
Waiting For The End Of The World - 6/10 (Again, sonically different but eh I still dont care for it tooo much)
Watching The Detectives - bored/10 (Man it's not bad but for such a short album I'm so numb already that I can't even think)
This album was boring as hell and just worse sounding Billy Joel, like it's not bad, and from my song rankings it would probably be a higher score than this, but my actual score is what's at the end here, not so much the star rating.
2.5/5
Bookends Theme - NOT RATED (Just a lil cute intro theme I'm not gonna rate that it's 30 seconds)
Save the Life of My Child - 7.5/10 (That was very interesting, incredibly experimental for 1968 and I liked the "Hello darkness my old friend" in the middle of the song, that's fun)
America - 9/10 (Just a really good folky song, I love this sound so for me this is amazing)
Overs - 9/10 (I LOVEEEEE this sound, it's so peaceful, so calming, ugh it's great)
Voices of Old People - NOT RATED (This is just old people talking, and fits surprisingly well into the album, it's oddly soothing)
Old Friends - 9/10
Bookends Theme - Reprise - 8.5/10 (The transition from Old Friends into this was so good I didn't even realize it happened, this is so peaceful I LOVE ITTTT but I can't give it a 9 or higher because it's too shortttt)
Fakin' It - 8.5/10 (The sound changed very abruptly from the past songs but this is still so great omg)
Punky's Dilemma - 8/10 (Did he fall down the stairs near the end of the song what the hell, still such a fun track)
Mrs. Robinson - 8.5/10 (I recognize this song, makes sense as it has a very high amount of streams, and yeah it's also great)
A Hazy Shade of Winter - 8.5/10 (Very different compared to the rest of the album but it's still so good like I can't complain)
At the Zoo - 8/10 (This song is just funny I love this why is this album so good??)
That was so much better than I expected omg, like genuinely great, I loved that, on a re-listen I would probably give it a higher score, but as is I'm gonna leave it as a 4.4/5
Movin' Out (Anthony's Song) - 9.5/10 (This is one of my favourite albums of all time, and I have listened to it more times than I can count, I already know the scores for everything here. Hell I'm even listening to this on vinyl.)
The Stranger - 10/10 (One of my favourite intros and themes EVER, and man is the song good too)
Just The Way You Are - 10/10 (Man I want this song at my wedding, what a beautiful track)
Scenes From An Italian Restaurant - 12/10 (One of the best songs of all time, this is Billy Joel's magnum opus, it's such a fantastic track with so many switches and sounds and the song length is quite impressive for the time this album released. This is Billy Joel's "Bohemian Rhapsody", in fact i like this song a lot more than "Bohemian Rhapsody" itself.)
Vienna - ♾️/10 (It's one of my favourite songs ever, and it means so much to me. The lyrics speak to me in a personal way, and the sound of the song is just so beautiful. I wanna visit Vienna just to play this song while walking around there.)
Only The Good Die Young - 9.5/10 (Such a fun track man, I love the sound, I love the lyrics ugh this album is AMAZINGGG)
She's Always a Woman - 11/10 (One of my mom's favourite songs ever, and honestly one of mine too. It's such a beautiful track, so peaceful and lord knows I love me a good peaceful track. The lyrics are also so pretty, the song is incredible.)
Get It Right The First Time - 9/10
Everybody Has a Dream - 8.5/10 (An extra .5 just because this is the song with the longest part of the Stranger's theme song, which is honestly one of my favourite themes EVER. While the weakest song on the album, its not even close to being a bad song.)
One of the best albums of all time, one of my favourite albums of all time, probably in my top 10.
I mean hell I was overjoyed with this today, I love Billy Joel and I knew exactly what score this would get from the beginning but I will never pass up an opportunity to listen to this masterpiece.
10/10
5/5
Amazing.
