I enjoyed the whole album, recognising Me and Julio Down By the Schoolyard. The overall acoustic, singer/songwriter feel is calming and intricate. I feel that the album would work really well shuffled or played in order, I must admit I did not listen to all the lyrics so do not know what all the songs are about. My favourite song off of the album was Paranoia Blues, it really scratches a good itch in my head listening to it.
I am not a massive fan of more original punk records. The album was good but I would not choose to listen to it often. I was a bit surprised by the use of the N-word in the single version of Holiday in Cambodia, I am not sure if it was used in the official release.
Good album overall, not a favourite of mine though.
First song, Down to the Waterline, is brilliant.
The whole album is brilliant. A sonic masterpiece that I could listen to over and over again. There is not a single song that I prefer more than another, of course sultans of swing is a beautiful song.
The whole album played really nicely. I enjoyed all of the songs and would probably listen to the record more frequently. Mambo Sun was is a really cool record. I had no idea that this is where the song Get It On came from!
The South African musicians on this record add a depth of character and flavour I have not heard in a lot of modern music. The effortless mix of folk, singer/song writer and South African percussion (as well as back in vocals) create a sonic experience unlike any other. Automatically one of my favourite albums I have listened to.
Of course I recognise a lot of the music, but just like putting a name to a face, I feel that I have a much better understanding of the music now. A brilliant listen throughout.
A gorgeous listen from start to finish. The title of the album does not give Ray Charles enough credit. There is not a song on the album I did not enjoy. I would not listen to this frequently, but would not complain if it was queued.
I enjoyed the album. Not an immediate choice for me to listen too but would listen again and again.
Love the album, Blue is quite new to me, but I loved it
Not my favourite album, not a bad listen just not my thing. I do not understand the love for Springsteen, but maybe I do not understand the context? I do enjoy other albums of his.
Love Miles Davis! Thought the album was brilliant. Really got me grooving. Long album though so took longer than I wanted to get through it all. Time and place would make this even better.
Interesting listen, probably won't be listening to it again. I enjoyed the first 4 tracks, but was not a fan of much of the rest. This might change with subsequent listens when I can spot the fine details, I am not sure that will happen though as I am not planning to listen to it lots more.
I really like the acoustic guitar and elements throughout the album. The singing feels etherial but with human rasp. Train song had my tapping my foot all the way through. The more I listen to the album the more I am enjoying it.
Great album, not what I was expecting from the album cover. I would call this 'classic rock' but there are clearly some folk and singer song writer style influences. Interestingly, I wonder if there was such thing as singer song writer when this came out?
Brilliant album, I didn’t realise how versatile OutKast are. Will need to listen again and again
Loved the album, a fresh take on the electronic music that I am used to. I will be listening to it more and refining which songs I like most. I think there are definitely songs I would add to my playlist
Brilliant album, Amazon to hear how different original metal was compared to now.
I liked the album. I felt that this has probably influence newer artists, I felt that I recognised some elements throughout the album. Some songs I would listen to again, but would not rush back to the album.
Brilliant album, I really enjoyed it! No notes, will be listening to it more frequently
It was okay, not my favourite that I have listened to so far
Really enjoyed the album. Actually liked it a lot more than I thought I would considering I am not big fan of the beetles.
