Pearl by Janis Joplin
Mar 07 2026

Reminds me of college and battles of various bands. Bobby McGee, Oh Lord Won’t You Buy Me. Great album!

Hejira by Joni Mitchell
Mar 08 2026

Loved it - very dense lyrically. Sound was very 70s. Can hear inspiration of modern singer songwriters.

Crosby, Stills & Nash by Crosby, Stills & Nash
Mar 10 2026

My favorite kind of harmony. I can hear the influence of CS&N on Fleat Foxes, Avetts, etc. An album to return to.

London Calling by The Clash
Mar 11 2026

I see why this is a classic. While not a fave of mine, the influences on other band (Green Day came to mind a lot) is super clear.

The Clash by The Clash
Mar 12 2026

I continue to hear the influence on bands that came after. Not an album I’ll return to often, but clearly a classic for a reason.

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
Mar 15 2026

This is the first album in this list that I’ve thought, “Oh! No thank you.” I remember when it came out. I remember the singles. My brother is a fan. But there was no good time in my day to shift over to this album and, frankly, I didn’t want to. So it gets a lower rating reflecting: good for you, not for me. Onwards!
