Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Mar 11 2026

Not the only 5 star album by Bob but certainly worthy of this list. 5 of the 10 songs here would end up on the Legend compilation.

Moondance by Van Morrison
Mar 12 2026

Rootsy kinda sound, quintessential Van. Into the Mystic a timeless classic.

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley
Mar 13 2026

There may be no better opener than Blue Suede Shoes. The album shows his the great breadth of his vocal range. Only wish that the recording of Blue Moon didn't sound like a demo, it just doesn't fit the rest of the album but overall a great 30mins of music.

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
Mar 16 2026

Incredible recording. The friction between Cash, the crowd and the wardens is palpable. Wanted Man is a great roaring opening and the cameo from June fabulous.

Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake
Mar 17 2026

Alot of cellos! I like Man in a Shed though, great pianos.

Pretenders by Pretenders
Mar 18 2026

Much of the appeal comes from the sound and the attitude but i found the tunes themselves less engaging. Brass in Pocket will live on in hundreds of playlists but i didn't find much else to get excited about beyond Tattooed Love Boys.

Life's Too Good by The Sugarcubes
Mar 19 2026

Birthday was a good tune and besides that the album has and echoey jangley sound that gives the world it's first listen to Bjork on vocals.

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Mar 20 2026

I don't know any other album with as much filler that still rates 5 stars. It might sound like a contradiction but its still an essential album and every bit as important as dark side. Paranoia, anxiety, stress, tension, friction will all be felt during this listening but when it soars its incredible.

Ellington at Newport by Duke Ellington
Mar 23 2026

Diminuendo and Crescendo in Blue was the standout. Clearly a jazz milestone.

Mar 24 2026

Hasn't ages great. Wasn't too fond of the interludes but enjoyed the sample of the doors on superstar.

Screamadelica by Primal Scream
Mar 25 2026

Epic album, has a timeless quality. Gets a bit spacey at the end. A total trip.
