Not really a fan. There are a few stand-out songs on here like Brown Sugar & Wild Horses, but other than that, it feels kind of samey and overall uninteresting to me. Not something I hate, but probably wouldn't listen to it again.
Very much enjoyed the instrumental interludes and the heavy focus on instrumentals throughout, even in the longer songs. Very pleasant to listen (and of course, Roundabout is a classic!)
Something that I probably wouldn't listen to regularly, but I feel the music's emotions very heavily. I like it when things can invoke that kind of feeling in me. Good album.
First of all, Jazz Fusion is one of my most cherished genres, if not my absolute favorite genre of all time. The second I pressed play, I knew I was in for a TREAT.
Chameleon was quite a long song. I've seen some more modern jazz fusion albums have songs spanning from 6 to 10 minutes, but 15 is pretty long. That's never an issue for me in these types of albums though. The flow and the continuously changing "sound" of the individual song keeps it captivating enough to not become boring or overstay its welcome. And honestly, I think it's a great talent to have to be able to make a 15 minute song without making it too repetitive or boring (though I may be a tad biased). Last few minutes made me think of "Raisins" by Ryo Kawasaki, and honestly, probably just because of the uptick in sheer funk.
My favorite jazz fusion albums are ones where you can't tell where one song ends and another starts. I feel like this has some pretty clear boundaries, but don't get it twisted---there are very few instances where I would ever give a jazz fusion album less than a 10/10.
Also, first few minutes of Vein Melter sounds like LA Noire main menu music? I like.
It's... interesting? Band on the run is still a great song though.
Woah I think I do like instrumentals quite a bit. This was very pleasant to listen to.
Peak from start to finish, and I found myself bopping my head to the songs quite a bit throughout. The beats and the lyrics are just absolutely splendid. Can't go wrong with some boys from the city!
I'm a very big fan of instrumentals it seems, and I absolutely loved grimy/industrial tone this album had throughout. Excellent background music!
Her voice is absolutely gorgeous and the intonation alone is enough to make me incredibly emotional. I'm not exactly well-versed in this style of music, nor would I say it's my favorite genre, but I can recognize the raw talent on display here. That being said, it's not really something I would really listen to again on my own.
I feel as though people can have some difficulty interfacing with instrumental-focused music. I don't think of this stuff as "samey" or "melting together" in the same way I think of an album like Sticky Fingers melting together. Sticky Fingers melts together because of the constant slow, drawn out lyrics and music to accompany it. The sharpness of the instruments in an album like this make everything pop a lot more and make the beats more distinctive in my head. Might honestly be just a very overhated album. I enjoyed it very much. Also it got me through a very hectic day of work and I felt like I was zooming so +1 for that.
A few good songs, and a majority of "meh" songs, and a few that plain made me laugh when they played. Not a fan.
Some of the songs drag (ha) a little but overall very enjoyable to listen to.
I feel as though I am a Music Enjoyer. I hand out a lot of favorable ratings because I like it when things go into my ears and sound good, and not much sounds bad to me. I like rap, I like rock, I like jazz, I like harsh noise, I like country, I like hardbass, I like metal, I like Bronx drill, I like video game OSTs, etc. It's very rare for me to find something that I just can't listen to.
This is an absolute fucking drag to listen to. It is actively putting me to sleep as I'm writing this. There's a difference between slow music and just... whatever this is. I don't see the musical value nor do I see the artistic value here. The constant yammering between the few bits of repeated strums and vocalizations is driving me up the wall. PLUS the way that goddamned accent hits my ears. It's just grating at some points. I would never listen to this again.
The band is a one hit wonder FOR A REASON.
THERE'S A STARMAN WAITING IN THE SKY!
Very industrial, very metal, I enjoyed listening to this one a lot. Will definitely be coming back to it!
Upbeat throughout and plenty of bangers. Good stuff.
Interesting stuff, never really listened to this genre before. I don't think it's bad but I don't really think I'd listen to it again either.
Songs to roll down my car window and aura farm to
A few good songs but generally it's pretty uninteresting to me. Decent background noise, but everything does tend to drag on a bit with not that much to offer.
I like it when good soundwaves enter my ears and this is good soundwaves
Definitely preferred the more industrial tone of Music for the Jilted Generation, but this was a great album that I thoroughly jammed out to.
I don't take issue with the length of repetitiveness, I love electronic music. Unfortunately I do like my electronic music to be a bit more uptempo (or at least interesting and filling my ears with noise like Around the World). Pretty mediocre album imho.
I think it's good country, I really don't have many qualms with this album. I think I'm leaning towards a 4 but it is a hesitant 4 since it's not really the kind of country I personally enjoy listening to, but I'm sure it could grow on me.
At first I thought "mediocre", but this actually passes well as a parody of country music. Feels very uninspired and boring and I was waiting for it to be over.
