Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Mar 23 2026

Already know sympathy for the devil Funny how rock and roll evolved from the Beatles and the stones were a huge part in the transformation to something heavier. This one sounds so light so far Some of the blues elements on the third track remind me of Led Zeppelin Seems they were returning to their blues roots for the whole album I like the piano at the end of jigsaw puzzle I wish it was more prominent throughout the whole song Was bored with street fighting man Liked prodigal son right off the bat, turns out it’s a cover of an old blues song so that tracks Songs like salt of the earth remind me why I hate the stones where who tf let this old English dude sing? He sounds bad. Oh good they added a choir to cover him up

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Mar 24 2026

Starting off strong with rockabilly and psychedelic blend. Didn’t realize they also did a version of Before You Accuse Me. They definitely got sued for Travelin’ Band, very Little Richard. Goes hard though. Always loved Lookin’ Out My Back Door good single from the album. I like the vibe switch for Run Through the Jungle, feels more sinister to me. Another one I already know and love. Guess I didn’t realize this album had a lot of their popular songs on it. Up Around The Bend is another classic for me can’t go wrong with the vibes. I like a band that’s not afraid of a cover. I know most of these songs. It’s nice to find them again and appreciate them in the scope of the album. I love Marvin Gaye but I think I like their version of Grapvine better. The heavy guitar and the pounding drums remind me of Tusk by Fleetwood Mac. There’s only 3 songs on this album that I didn’t know and/or wouldn’t pick again. Solid album with songs that already lived in my circulation and some new to me songs as well. None I would necessarily skip.

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Mar 25 2026

Already know and love this one. Was introduced to it and instantly loved the funky vibes and how it was a little silly. Even though the tracks are long they are in my heavy rotation. Mostly the first and second tracks but the whole album is worth a listen

On The Beach by Neil Young
Mar 26 2026

I may not know any of these songs. I like the first one though, old school happy vibes. The rest of the album is like sad 70s cowboy rock (affectionate). I think it’s funny that there are three different “something” blues tracks.

Court And Spark by Joni Mitchell
Mar 27 2026

Very independent hippy vibes. LOVE Raised on Robbery, feel like it belongs in the Baby Driver movie. Definitely prefer the upbeat tempo of this song compared to the rest of the album so far. I like the jazz cover but only because it’s different than the rest of the album.

Mar 28 2026

I really like the story telling on this album. The old school samples are always the best. I think the only song I’ve heard previously was Can I Kick It? which I loved. The way they pull and blend several different samples from different genres is amazing.

The Rising by Bruce Springsteen
Mar 30 2026

Not a huge fan of Bruce Springfield. I do enjoy the softer side of this album and its country influences but over all not my daily listening vibe.
