good introduction point for jazz! actually my first ever proper jazz album and john coltrane lowkey clears miles davis ✌️
fav: part 2: resolution
least fav: part 4: psalm
"don't wait for yo neighbour! green eggs and ham!"
Didn't take Prince as an avid Dr. Seuss reader. He also says sixty-seven, which is really funny. Prince is hip with the kids.
Fav Song: Slow Love
Least Fav: Hot Thing
i liked it, but is this not just the same song over and over again?
the UK deserves all the anarchy it can get.
Fav: Pretty Vacant
Least Fav: New York
holy what an experience. that is all i can say about this. maybe the finest album I have ever heard. I am a little slut for albums this cohesive.
Fav Song from Disc 1: Young Lust
Least Fav: Goodbye Cruel World
Fav Song from Disc 2: The Trial
Least Fav: Vera
bitter, lowkey misogynistic, and unfortunately really good.
but just so we are abundantly clear Elvis, women don't owe you anything boss
Fav Song: Hand in Hand
Least Fav: You Belong to Me
really difficult listen in the best way possible. confrontational angsty and just wow im unsettled.
Fav Song: Heresy
Least Fav: Eraser
first solo album by the best beatle? hell yeah ✌️ john lennon could never... george harrison probaby could 😓
Fav Song: Junk
Least Fav: Teddy Boy
one of the best hip hop albums I have ever heard, maybe second only to the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. big ups common
Fav Song: Faithful
Least Fav: Testify
VERY different then what I was expecting from the men who brought Disco to the highest of heights.
folkyish? countryish? poppyish? psychedelicyish? classicalyish? i don't know and I am not sure this is what i come to the Bee Gees for
Fav: Lamplight
Least Fav: Give Your Best
why do people hate the eagles? what the fark is wrong with them? this was incredible!! poignant lyrics and showcases why the eagles were EVERYWHERE in the 70s. people just love to hate i fear.
Fav Song: New Kid in Town
Least Fav: Wasted Time (Reprise)
beautiful and ethereal. I couldn't understand a word they were saying and you know what? that is ok x
Fav Song: I Wear Your Ring
Least Fav: Pitch the Baby
REALLY weird opener. The rest is fine though! some classic ABBA on here but I think deep cuts 'That's Me' and 'Tiger' outshine even 'Dancing Queen'! my mum was ecstatic when I told her I was listening to ABBA today which was very nice.
Fav: That's Me
Least Fav: When I Kissed the Teacher
I respect the ambition and the grandiose of it all. objectively good just not really my schtick yet I did add 5 songs to my playlist so make of that what you will.
Fav: 14th Street
Least Fav: Vibrate
One of the true foundations of rock music. I can't believe this was 44 minutes it felt way longer? Anyways this was really beautiful at times I may continue my journey with The Band in my own time! Great album!
Fav: Whispering Pines
Least Fav: Rag Mama Rag
pure poetry!
Fav: Raised on Robbery
Least Fav: Just Like This Train
my first proper foray into acid house music (at least that i can remember) and whilst it is pretty good for what it is and made good background music as i did my assessment task, i don't think i will ever return to it again outside of maybe 2 songs.
Fav Song: Possible Worlds: Deep PSI
Least Fav: Evil is Even
cute! french operatic music. has a very grandiose feel to it and while I don't think I will EVER return to this as a full album, I can see old french grannies absolutely slobbering over this shit.
Fav Song: Amsterdam
Least Fav: Le plat pays
I loved this album! they are so specific that these songs feel truly lived in and personal to an extent that I find difficult to come by. It sucks I only listened to this now, I missed out on all the teenage angst this album could've given me. Unfortunately next year I am 20... so my life is practically over.
Fav Song: Still Take You Home
Least Fav: You Probably Couldn't See for the Lights but You Were Staring Straight At Me
like the last album I reviewed, I feel I would probably connect to this a whole lot more if I listened to it when I was younger and more angsty. As it stands it is at times charming and fine enough but my gosh there are some annoying and incel-y moments on here. most juvenile album I have ever heard (positive) and has a very homemade feel to it which is cool! but yeah i don't feel much for this album. bought it once for a situationship and now i am just wondering why this was the album she wanted? out of everything really? I can see how this was influential, but lord i dont really gaf about anything I've just heard 😭
im giving it a 2 but i don't think its bad im just not the audience i fear. just a whole heap of nothing that is charming at times
Fav Song: Please Do Not Go
Least Fav: Add It Up
white people get fucking turnt! i am the white people in question!
The first half of the album might be among the strongest A-sides EVER. I thoroughly enjoyed Hot Fuss and you best believe im a happy little cracker the moment mr brightside goes on in the club
Fav Song: jenny was a friend of mine
Least Fav: everything will be alright
people are gonna be really upset when i give this a 3...
Fav Song: Prayers for Rain
Least Fav: Closedown
very talking heads-y, reminds me a lot of Remain in Light. I LOVE THIS ALBUM.
Fav Song: New York, I Love You But You're Bringing Me Down
Least Fav: Sound of Silver
