The problem I tend to have with Metallica is that they don’t really grab me for extended periods of time. There’s not many songs that they have that I sit and feel genuinely satisfied to have listened to, and this album has a lot of those moments. It’s genuinely solid insofar as it’s well made, well produced, etc., like there’s nothing in here that’s necessarily bad, but only a few songs properly grabbed me (Enter Sandman, Don’t Tread on Me). I think if it was a bit thrashier like their first few albums I would have enjoyed it more.
