1001 Albums Summary

A lot of the songs sound the same. I know I’m supposed to like the Talking Heads. I’m assuming this is an earlier album for them so maybe they were still finding themselves? Psycho Killer obvious highlight. I was surprised by “The Book I Read”.

I’m probably rating these all wrong but part of my rating is based on the probability of ever listening to the album again. I used to work at a job where jazz was played all the time and so I just don’t reach for a jazz album when I want to listen to something. That said this feels like it’s an “important” jazz album…but what do I know?

I never got into Black Sabbath so it was nice listening to this. Never realized that there was “metal” in 1972 so I can see why they call this band genre defining. I really like the song Changes. That said I don’t see this album as one I’d go back to and listen to again.

I guess I never realized how much of Montreal ripped off early Bowie.
