Parallel Lines by Blondie
Apr 21 2026

Incredible vocal performances. Great mix for the time. Timeless songwriting and sound, feels nostalgic at times but not old and dusty at all. Great energy even in the slower paced songs. Some of the songs are a little too sparkly/happy-go-lucky for my personal taste, but overall it is still a great album with a lot of hits (one of them being the evergreen Heart of Glass of course). Also, it is interesting to hear their punk roots come through in some songs as well.

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Apr 22 2026

Great opening track but I'm personally not the biggest fan of the choice of sound on this one. The drums are way too clicky and the guitars are somehow simultaniously muddy and dry sounding . Ride the lightning was way more iconic soundwise. Overall it feels very prog and experimental at times while I'm more a fan of their thrashier material. The songs also tend to go on for seemingly forever. Certainly not my favourite of their installations, but still solid and of course very influential for the scene.

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Apr 23 2026

That's a real rough start for an album ngl. I guess I'm just not the biggest fan of that overly distorted sound design. As soon as crosstown traffic hits, it feels like it gets sort of better, but then Vodoo Chile comes up and I feel another deep sigh coming. I think I might just not be getting that "typical" Hendrix sound/style. It just might not be my cup of tea tbf. Not proud to admit it, but I didn't even get through the whole album.

I Should Coco by Supergrass

Finally, a completely fresh listen to an artist I didn't know before. Let's see where this one goes. Not the biggest fan of the opening track, but I've heard worst. From a purely sonic standpoint, I'm enjoying it so far, although the mix is a bit too bassy for my personal taste. Otherwise really nice and crunchy though. I'm interested if they keep that high octance energy of the first track going throughout the whole record. Not so fresh of an artist after all, as soon as "Alright" dropped, I realized that I did know a song of them beforehand. Great track as a sort of breather within all of that punky energy. They really did a great job with placing little breathing pauses either within the songs themselves, or by placing slower paced songs at the right spots. Solid record overall. Not my favourite of all time or anything, but solid nonetheless.

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
Apr 25 2026

Great, another blues album... Let's see if this one catches me a little more than Hendrix. Listening to the first track I'm already getting the feeling that this might be another skip unfortunately. I'm really not the biggest blues fan.

The Bends by Radiohead
Apr 26 2026

Not for me. Skipped after the third song. Their sound kinda just makes me depressed and have a headache.

The Contino Sessions by Death In Vegas
Apr 27 2026

First song was repetitive but pleasantly hypnotic. Second song, as soon as the vocals drop and those crazy dissonant guitars sort of simulating sirens, I got really annoyed immediately. I don't think this is for me either.
