1001 Albums Summary

At first listening to this album, I didn’t keep an open mind. It’s not my type of jam, but I’m trying to listen to all the “classics” of the US; something that you shouldn’t miss out on. I gave it a listen, and I wasn’t a fan of the harmonicas returning. But then, as the songs descended, I sat down more to listen to the lyrics as the song played. I just thought “what a lyrical genius?” Some music nowadays just has no flow, no story, especially albums. The way he writes is pretty sick. I was so quick to give this album like a 1-2 the first time I gave it a listen, but I felt it wasn’t fair for me to give an album the proper rating when I haven’t given it a second listen. I listened to it again. I really enjoyed “buckets or rain” what a nice song. You can tell that he really took his time writing this music (I mean it’s an album it needs to have some sort of flow or story compared to an EP). Here are my personal notes when I listened the first way through for the first time: -On the avenuee, tangled up in blues. - holy harmonica 😭😭 holy country airball -you’re a big girl now awww🥹 I liked this song -idiot wind he’s lowkey just vibing tbh -meet me in the morning? Yup for sure I will -buckets of rain💔💔💔10/10 this album is actually not bad. -Lily, rosemary and the jack of hearts was so long but I really liked the song.
