Madman Across The Water by Elton John
Apr 29 2026

It’s some of Elton’s best bangers, voice is on top form, but opening on Tiny Dancer means you start on the highest of highs. I like the cover, it looks like it was done on bread by the guy from great British bake off.

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Apr 30 2026

I always said I didn’t like the doors, however I never really took the time to listen to them, but I never let my position of ignorance stop my ability to criticise something. Turns out I was right, largely boring, I think if Jim Morrison didn’t die the people wouldn’t hold The Doors in such high regard. Maybe in the context of the history of music around the time they made more sense, but this album was pretty lack luster tbh, I can hear where Geese pull some of their music from (derogatory). “Woke up this morning and got myself a beer” is a banger of a line though so good for them. Also listening to this album reminded me of the Skrillex/ Doors collab song, which is hilarious.

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
May 05 2026

It’s one of the greatest for good reason, the way it pushed production is undeniable. The song writing is amazing, some of the most heartbreaking songs ever written. It could just be Wouldn’t It be Nice, then brian Wilson just getting the wrecking crew just farting the wall of sound, and it would still land a high 4. Let alone songs like God Only Knows and I Just wasn’t made for these times Top album, anyone who doesn’t rate it as 5 is a tasteless, heartless swine.

Document by R.E.M.
May 06 2026

Amazing album, REM are a band I know I should have always been into but never got round to listening to them in depth. Loved it, amazing song writing, amazing musicianship. I’d probably give it a 5 but some of the production style is a bit too 80s for this kinda of music for me. Admittedly done really fucking well. But that is also something I’ll probably change my mind on in time. One to revisit!

Parachutes by Coldplay
May 08 2026

You know what, I don’t like Coldplay, it’s overblown sentimental nonsense. But i enjoyed this album, the production is lovely, the guitar parts are really nice. I’d probably give this album a 4 if it wasn’t for Chris Martin. And I don’t even know if that’s because of him on this album, or just everything else he’s done has ruined any chance of me enjoying his contribution to this album.

Parklife by Blur
May 11 2026

Great album and a classic for a reason, it goes on a little long but ultimately an enjoyable time. I always forget how much I love Graham Coxons guitar playing and how much that brings to the table for blur

She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
May 12 2026

First time listening to Cyndi Lauper outside of the obvious singles, this album needs to be held in higher regard. Some real fun songs on here, cracking voice and hits some sustained high notes that rival Ivan Dorin

May 13 2026

10/10 it’s got Bring Tha Noize with Anthrax. Nah but this album slaps, opening track Last at Birth with its main sample is so hype. Like with all Public enemy, Flava Flav is either the most annoying part, or the best hype man going. On this occasion having a song about hating the New York post (good) because they published a paper about beating his baby momma (bad) Production rocks, sample choices are great and the drums absolutely thump

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
May 14 2026

I don’t love it or hate it, I never gelled with Maiden, you can definitely hear the through lines for the gutter of the genre, but ultimately find the songs uninspiring in a modern context. If I could I’d give it 2.5

Being There by Wilco
May 21 2026

My kinda shit. My girlfriend said she wasn’t fussed about Wilco, I said how can she not like Wilco? She exclaimed that’s the most guy who dresses like I do thing to say.
