1001 Albums Summary

Its bob dylan and he sounds about how you would expect. this album does has some good tracks on it but overall not really my thing.

so far not a lot of songs on this album have caught my attention but i really haven't heard much talking heads up until i listened to this album. paper is a pretty decent song and so is life during war time. memories cant wait is also another good one but I've noticed that a lot of these songs have riffs that go on for way too long and don't really do anything except the occasional solo. also not a big fan of David Byrne's vocals. maybe its just the album but he does not really try anything new with his vocals throughout the whole album. another thing i noticed is that his vocals are super hidden behind all the instruments but that's probably just the mix of whatever version i chose to listen to. I'm sure there are better mixes of this album out there.

everyone has heard at least one song off this album and thats the song green onions from this album. the entire album is filled with so much soul and you can tell they took the time in that studio to work out how this album would sound thematically. each song piggy backs off each other and it works extremely well. usually i like songs with singing but i think this album actually benefits not having any lyrics and just straight banging organs and keyboards. usually the guitar is the focal point of a song in most cases and this is not the case here. extremely good album overall.

Have not listened to much lou reed but this album was very welcoming and i enjoyed it very much!

what is there not to say about this album. its a very personal album for me. as someone who has struggled with addiction and have had someone in my family struggle with addiction as well this album hits very close to home. songs like down in a hole and junkman and dirt paint a depressing picture of somebody who no longer feels like they belong and that their wings have been clipped. i do have my favorites on this album but i generally love every song on this album its easily a no skip. angry chair is another really great song of pure hatred and regret. with those disgusting drums in the background and laynes vocals belting out about his little angry chair and walls that distill the air. oh my god its perfect if you have not listened to this album please do.

marvin gaye is an enigma and i will always cherish his music.

Its not the most perfect punk album but damn does it come close. i would have gave it a 5/5 but im not 15 anymore. which does not mean i hate this album or punk, quite the opposite but i have since grown to appreciate what this album did at the time and really shows how strong green day was before they kinda fell off for me. ill never not love welcome to paradise.......

always liked coldplay and this album cements my enjoyment for what they have done

This album is one of the greats. Like i cant even think of words to describe how i feel about this album. this one got me through some crazy times in my life. they really exceeded at showing their talent through this one. with my favorites being drive my car, im looking through you, wait, and the most important one being, in my life. a song that has made my cry on many occasions.
