1001 Albums Summary

The guitars are all so beautiful and powerful. My fav song on this album is "She's So Fine" where the bassist sings instead of Jimi. The guitars on the song are so freaking good. I find that I love the instrumentals of most of the songs, but I don't care much for the way Hendrix sings. I think that's why I like "She's So Fine". I really like Noel Redding's English accent. Overall, I think a lot of the vocal effects are a bit too much for me. I do appreciate the lyrics of his songs, though.

This was one of the most obnoxious albums I have ever listened to. The main singer's vocal style was just not my thing. I hated the way he pronounced certain words and stretched certain syllables. To me, it ruined almost every single song. Which is a shame because all of the instrumentals are so freaking good. Another thing that really irked me was the constant repetition at the end of a lot of the songs. I wished they had come up with a more creative way to end them; let the instruments do the talking. That is why the only song I liked on the album was "Lipstick Vogue". I really like the breakdown in the middle of the song and the key changes and/or accidentals they use on the keyboard are so so good. Even though this song has annoying repetition at the end of it as well, this is the only track on the album that shines to me.

I really like the opening song. I love 80s synths, and I truly think that was a great way to open the album. I like "Jump" for that same reason. Love the synths and the two groovy guitar parts, but it left me wanting more. I liked the song, put not enough to listen to it again. It reminded me of the 1st Naruto opening song so that was nice lol. "Hot for Teacher" is a disgusting song; I could not listen to it in full. The track that stood out to me the most was "Girl Gone Bad". Loved the beginning of the song and part at 3:00 - 4:00 but the song completely lost me when dude started "oooh"ing and moaning on the track. If he didn't do that, the song would have been an 8 out of 10 for me, but unfortunately it is like a 6/10. Which seemed to be a pattern that I was noticing in these songs. Those types of adlibs or artistic flair is just not for me. Other than that, no other songs stood out to me and while listening, I found myself glad that there are only 9 songs on this album. I did not want to listen to anymore.

This whole album was a bunch of nothingness. Incredibly bland and repetitive instrumentals with horrible vocals that sounded like a drunk Elvis impersonator. Even though this album only had 11 songs, it was 40 minutes long. Which is way longer than it needed to be for the substance that it provided: nothing. Worst album I've listened to on this list so far.

Just absolutely not my type of music. Felt like I need to be in a stables on a farm chewing wheat to fully appreciate this.

I'd rate it a 3.5/5. Missing is the best song on the album. I am kind of confused about where the influence came from, but it's not bad.
