Murmur by R.E.M.
May 28 2026

Project 1001 #2 R.E.M - Murmur Pre thoughts - I know of R.E.M obviously but again never fully sat down with an album. I like the song Losing My Religion. Is it like that? Post thoughts - I think if really enjoy this if I found it earlier in life. It’s a good album. Just, lacking a bit of creativity for my modern ears.

Project 1001 #3 Pre thoughts - with Myles Davis i'd heard of him but never listened to jazz REM i'd heard of but never sat down with PJ i somehow have never heard of at all, yet she sits here with a top 1001 album on RYM. Post thoughts: Holy shit. Bumping Steps while an album like this came out the same time seems bizarre (even if i was 5 at the time) Even the first tracks that are your by the numbers rock tracks instrumental wise is still captivating. Then tom yorke comes in and its a sign of things to come which is "yeah we're gonna try some stuff out" Fav songs: All of them tbh

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
May 30 2026

Project 1001 ABID #4 Pre thoughts - started of with Myles Davis so makes sense that jazz related stuff is gonna feature heavily in the top 1001. Some people respect whiskey they've just never tried it. This is me with jazz. Seeing as Sarah is a singer, i think its going to be much easier for my to digest than the Myles record so I'm very much looking forward to it. Post thoughts- certainly a beautiful album and Sarah is so good. Just would need a few relistens to pick a favourite song

The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground

Project 1001 ABID #5 Pre thoughts - I have listened to this before and really couldn’t get into it with modern ears. Maybe the relisten will improve things Post thoughts- now I’m old enough to appreciate the lyrics and the time it was done, certainly can respect it. It’s just really not for me.

To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar
Jun 01 2026

Project 1001 ABID #6 Pre thoughts: I’ve listened to this to death so really I don’t have to re listen. I will say it’s not my favourite from Kendrick though. Maad city was amazing. Post thoughts: yeah just solid isnt it. The wordplay isnt just for flexing, still tells the story. Set a standard that few reach this consistently.

Madman Across The Water by Elton John
Jun 02 2026

Project 1001 ABID #7 Pre thoughts: Love Eltons hits so very interested to see what an acclaimed album sounds like. Post thoughts: it’s wild that Tiny dancer isn’t even in the top 5 of this album
