Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake
Jun 04 2026

Genuinely so stunningly beautiful! Something about it is so haunting but in a very beautiful way. Nick Drake's voice is rich and lovely. I really think it is now one of my favorite albums I've ever heard! "River Man" and "Way to Blue" are probably my favorite tracks.

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Jun 05 2026

It's crazy to think how influential this album and the White Stripes were in defining what rock would look like in the 21st century, esp the 2000s! Really solid album overall. My fave songs were "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground," (which was an awesome intro), "Fell In Love With a Girl," "Aluminum," and "The Union Forever." (The last 2 are the tracks that stood out to me the most). Its not an album I'd usually listen to, but I can definitely appreciate that it sounds pretty great!

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Jun 06 2026

My god when I saw it was 2hrs I was like tf. I did have to listen to it in two different sessions. I really liked it though! The album cover is sooo beautiful :D I appreciated both the rock and ballad songs, but I definitely loved the ballads more. There was something very beautiful and melancholic (haha) about the ballads. "Take Me Down" was absolutely gorgeous. I think it is one of my favorite songs of all time now; it hurt to try not to put it on loop, I kept coming back to it. I don't know, it was just very beautiful. Fave songs: Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Tonight, Tonight, Jelly Belly, Zero, To Forgive, Cupid de Locke, Galapgos, Porcelina Of The Vast Oceans, Take Me Down, Where Bous Fear to Tread, Stumbleine, By Starlight, Farewell and Goodnight

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Jun 30 2026

I got so excited when I saw I would be listening to a bossa nova AND jazz album! Two of my most loved genres!! Incredible, honestly such a perfect album. I loved all of the songs. I don't know how an album can be so soothing but thrilling (in the sense that it was such a musical masterpiece) but Getz and Gilberto do a wonderful job. Asturd Gilberto's voice is so gorgeous!! Fave Songs: Desafinado, Corcovado, Sólo Danço Samba, Vivo Sonhando

Crocodiles by Echo And The Bunnymen
Jul 01 2026

I think this is my first time listening to the post-punk genre. I appreciate the darker sound of the genre. I really dig the sound, really I do. I think this album just suffers from being inconsistent. Some songs are great, but most are just average. Not bad, just average. The lyrics are **sigh** they definitely don't help the averageness of most of the album's songs :/ Fave songs: Going Up, Do It Clean, Villiers Terrace, All That Jazz

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Jul 02 2026

Its pretty obvious that this album is meant to be experimental, and thats completely okay! Most of the songs on here are just not for me. Some good songs but as an album? Not my cup of tea Songs I genuinely liked: White Moon, Instinct Blues, Red Rain (this one was half good half meh)

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
Jul 03 2026

Winehouse's voice is so, so soulful. I love love how reminiscent it is of the girl groups of 60s! The instrumentals are just chefs kiss 🤌🏽🤌🏽 Fave songs: You Know I'm No Good, Just Friends, Back to Black (Got actual chills), Love Is A Losing Game, Tears Dry On Their Own (ABSOLUTE BANGER! Adored the "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" sample), Wake Up Alone
