Young Americans by David Bowie
Jun 11 2026

so far rly cool, v dif from bowie's more well known sound. track 1 good, wanna listen in the car on a roadtrip w windows down. win was so fire to listen to high w the sun coming thru the window, lyrically rly interesting i gotta relisten. NEED to have sex listening to fascination omg this song is so hot. right was just okay tbh. somebody up there likes me was shockingly christian. across the universe kept going from really interesting to boring over n over idk it was weird. can ypu hear me was a rly cool song i liked it. i wanna see fame in a movie. idk what the context would be but it'd b fire in a movie.

My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
Jun 12 2026

really conflicted about this album. on one hand it kinda bored me here and there because it sounds at times a lot like modern/2000s pop rock but at the same time this is kinda where that sound originated so the fact it bored me kinda proves how important it is, and the lyrics are great but again just the sound is kinda boring me. some songs had more jazz or reggaeton vibes to them and i rly enjoyed those ones but the rest were just kinda. meh. idk im prob gonna put it at a 3 just bc ive grown out of the genre heavily yk at 14 id be obsessed with this but right now. eh.

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths

not their best work. every song on this album sounds very similar. it’s fine it’s the smiths they’re always gonna be at least somewhat good but idk just nothing standout about this album

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival

ramble tamble: there's a very distinctly 60s-70s sound to this song, im not sure how i feel. if it were harder rock OR had less of an aggressive beat i think id like it more idk though. part at 2mins is cool. ok lowkey rly cool song the way the instrumental section represents his hope in moving somewhere new and goes back to the same as before, back in poverty. 80 before you accuse me: has a fun vibe to it. turns out it's a cover so not gonna cover lyrics. interesting song choice though. 60 travelin' band: super simple lyrically but super good i see why this one is so popular. it sounds like it could be in a movie about the 70s its just so distinct. 87 ooby dooby: what a name. ok its like. fine. kinda cool sounding. 70 lookin' out my back door: so this is about a circus appearing in your backyard. sure ok yeah we're just doing whatever now. aw wait he wrote it for his 3 year old thats cute. 73 run through the jungle: oh this song is cool. it was often interpreted as being a vietnam protest song but the writer said its about how gun crazy americans were getting. cool one. 92 up around the bend: hell yeah just a fun song about saying fuck city life lets live in the middle of nowhere. i fw this. 90 my baby left me: super upbeat song about heartbreak. lowkey the quality on the recording of this song isnt as clear as the others. 65 who'll stop the rain: incredible song seemingly about foggerty's experience with getting drafted for vietnam and his loss of control over his life due to the war. 95 i heard it through the grapevine: vocally the most interesting song so far. lyrics touch on the narrator feeling the negative effects of toxic masculinity. overarching song is about getting cheated on, though its an extension to an already written song so i dont think the lyrics are personal. fun instrumentals but a bit too long tbh. 55 long as i can see the light: much slower and more chill than the other songs on the album and i LOVE it it's so good. lyrically sonically everything it's great. THE SAXOPHONES ARE GETTING LOUDER THROUGHOUT OH MY GOD. 99 overall: 79 / 4 stars. great album, some incredible songs, and some im probably never gonna listen to again. really enjoyable though.
