Certainly some grade A classic songs. Not quite sure if it's a masterpiece, but it reminds you that Bono and U2 were once influential greats and not a bit of a punchline.
Rap is a genre that I absolutely appreciate, and on occasion like a lot,, but I need to be in a certain mood to go out of my way to listen to it. That being said, this is a pretty badass record with some bangers that I would love to shuffle on a hip-hop-oriented playlist. Will I listen through the album all the way through again? Like...definitely a couple more times at least, perhaps, maybe.....

Was wondering if this would be my first 5, and maybe it eventually could be with more listens. Upon my first listen all the way through (finally! I know I know, ridiculous that it hasn't happened until now) there are a couple tracks that hit me hard, and of course "Purple Rain" and "When Doves Cry" are undeniable, but.....not immediately perfect-seeming to me! It's obviously influential, and undoubtedly a ton of fun. A fantastic 4
Holly Roller Novocaine is a great song but I do not think I needed to listen to this album before I die.
Dude this was sick! I always knew I would like the Fall, given they've influenced many artists I love. Excited to dig in more. Major durrrrrhhh.

The first album I ever owned, and probably the best
I dig! Songs kinda ran together a little bit, shall have to spend more time. Definitely enjoy the bigger production value over the more spare acoustic strumminess of his songs I've heard before. Oh "Happiness." So fickle and elusive. Better keep seeking.
Quite spectacular. If I had to pick a favorite jazz album it would be this. Coltrane is a legend of course but the rest of the quartet are firing HARD on their respective cylinders. McCoy Turner with the delicious keys, Jimmy Garrison slaying dat double bass, Elvin Jones encircling it all with precise and evocative drums. Chef's kiss.

I generally want to learn more about influential early electronic music, 90s and such. DnB I can bop to live for sure. As a studio album listening experience it felt a little background-musicky to me
