1001 Albums Summary

Sorry if this is harsh, I would’ve given it 2.5 if possible. But then 3 feels too high. I think its great background noise and peaceful but (controversially?) quite boring. Also a lot of the lyrics that sound like poetry actually mean nothing when u think about them properly. I dont have an example nor will i provide one. Also making the best song on the album the very first one is just a recipe for disaster

I felt cool listening to this but it still felt like a slog to get througj some of the songs

This was a perfectly nice album to listen to on a cycle into work. It had some really funky beats and felt very light and easy at 8am. However… i couldnt get the middle aged male listeners out of my head. And it also felt like AI couldve made it (to a very good standard!) if prompted to do something Bowie, ELO, Queen esque… Highlights for me were ‘I’m a cadillac’ and just the lyric ‘rock and roll slag, oh my, you’re such a drag’

Ive been a big Devendra Banhart fan ever since i watched the film Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist and heard the song Lover. So i was really excited for this. Howeverrrrrr , it was AWFUL. So BORING and different to the Devendra im used to. And why was he doing a weird voice throughout?

This was actually quite nice sounding and I remember enjoying it as background music. But i’d probs never listen to it again
