1001 Albums Summary

I get why this is an important record, but it doesn't do a lot for me. I like the first and last tracks and that's about it.

Somehow I missed this along the way, but holy cow, what a classic.

Blows Diamond Dave out of the water. Hey, this is King Louie's voice! I recognize it. Dude can play trumpet for real. This is so much fun - just tremendous energy blasting out.

Obviously, it's the Ramones and everything's kind of samey samey, but I bet this really bugged people back in the day. Don't know if I've heard Havana Affair before - really like it.

Holy cow, did I love this one. So much energy, so much life. Never would have gone looking for it but this is going into heavy rotation.

Obviously, one of the great records of the 80s. The songs I love I really love; the rest are just really good.

I'm just not sophisticated enough a hip hop listener to place this in the greater scheme of things. I've always loved The Rain and a couple other tracks really had my head nodding along, but - I need to listen to more before my rating is really meaningful. 3 stars = I liked it.

Married to a goth woman, I've heard plenty of Morrissey in my day. I actually bought this record myself, though, and really enjoy it, which is good, because if I rate Morrissey poorly on this site, she'll know, and murder me in my sleep. "Steely blue eyes with no love in them scan the world." OUCH. Come Back to Camden is the song after which our son is named. I also believe it was the tour for this record during which my wife got on stage and rushed Moz while pregnant with the same kid.

Not for me. I gave it a shot based on the interesting backstory, but just didn't click.

It's impossible for me to be objective about this album. It was too fundamental to my teenage years. Sorry not sorry.
