Kimono My House by Sparks

Not enjoying. Seems repetitive. Feels like circus music.

Tapestry by Carole King
Jun 21 2026

Makes you want to bop around as soon as the first few notes are played! I did my chores while listening and it made the work so much more enjoyable! Every song is a hit, amazing. On the song Tapestry she mentions a man with a coat of many colors (Feb 1971) - Dolly's song Coat of Many colors came out in April '71! Crazy. Listening to the lyrics of tapestry the song - talking about all these threads - how experiences and relationships are interconnected... Convergences & Confluences ๐Ÿ˜Š Amazing album.

Fisherman's Blues by The Waterboys
Jun 22 2026

First song I'm familiar with because TMD plays it from time to time. It sounds like a lot of instruments playing at the same time. World Party (weird name considering there's a band called the same) starts out like a Carole King song (which was my album yesterday), lyrically is it a jab at Karl Walinger? Karl left in 1985 apparently. Hmmm. It feels like an Irish jam band. In Sweet Thing, he quotes a line from the Beatles Blackbird over and over. It could be good background music but nothing I could see myself putting out to listen to.

A Girl Called Dusty by Dusty Springfield
Jun 24 2026

Good album. Didn't jump out at me, mostly nostalgic of songs I heard growing up.

Jun 25 2026

I can't listen.... I did listen to One Nation Under A Groove the song and it was a lot of fun but apparently, because of licensing issues, you can't stream it. Found it on YouTube! Super long songs! Lyrics are hysterical. Musically fascinating. Gorgeous guitar solos with lyrics like Fear of being eaten by a sandwich over top.

Illmatic by Nas
Jun 26 2026

I enjoyed the first half more than the second half. The musical undertones were jazz and had a great sound. The subject matter was dark but the songs didn't feel dark. Towards the end it felt more harsh. Interesting album.

Guero by Beck
Jun 27 2026

Fun album with a lot of sounds and I love the way he blends different instruments and styles of music.

Scream, Dracula, Scream by Rocket From The Crypt
Jun 28 2026

Not a fan of the vocalist at first listen. I like the music and I can hear how they'd be interesting and energetic live but as of the first song - not my thing.

Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk
Jun 30 2026

I like it. Great background music. I don't know enough about jazz to say much more than that.

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
Jul 02 2026

Phenomenal album. Every song is wonderful. Really enjoyed every bit of it.

Talking Book by Stevie Wonder
Jul 03 2026

From the first few notes of this, it is like the perfect album. So nostalgic. So warm. So comforting. Great album, I really enjoyed it.

Red Headed Stranger by Willie Nelson
Jul 04 2026

Beautiful album. Tapestry of melodies. Love the piano.

Don't Stand Me Down by Dexys Midnight Runners
Jul 06 2026

Musically I like it but I don't enjoy the vocalist.

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Jul 07 2026

Jam bands aren't my thing but I can hear the appeal to this album. The song lengths rival Funkadelic, but seem to keep you engaged even during the instrumental parts.

Time (The Revelator) by Gillian Welch
Jul 09 2026

Nice album. I'd have to be in the right mood to listen though, more of a winter record to me.

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
Jul 10 2026

Very moody record. I like it but like I said about previous records, it's a fall or winter listen for me. Hard to appreciate in the summer. I get why it is considered a key record.

Kimono My House by Sparks
Jul 13 2026

Not enjoying. Seems repetitive. Feels like circus music.

Spiderland by Slint
Jul 16 2026

I only got through two songs, it was ok. Didn't make me want to continue listing.

Diamond Life by Sade
Jul 17 2026

Really nice album, snuck a jazz album into pop music. Very moody and great sounding.

Who's Next by The Who
Jul 18 2026

Classic album! Love every track!

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Jul 23 2026

Classic album, every song is perfect!

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
