Blunderbuss by Jack White

A lot of 2010s rock is completely soulless and this is not an exception. Vocals, lyrics both suck and even when the instrumentals are good they feel derivative. Not a single bit of substance on this album Also this guy looooves misogyny Freedom at 21 is absurd and then his excuse is like yeah i was talking about technology actually.... i have female friends....

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic

im not particularly fond of long guitar solos but this is more than alright. title track and wars of armageddon are both solid and bookend some really fun funk. also wasnt expecting super stupid to go so hard on the rock part of funk rock

Absolute landmark album that suffers from being 65 years old and the book combining volumes 1 and 2 into a single album. I could easily justify a 3 if it were just volume 1 but by the end of volume 2 you have listened to 24 songs that sound (to me) nearly indistinguishable It just kind of turns into forgettable, repetitive background music, there was a stretch of 5 songs at the end of the album that genuinely sounded identical. The strings and choir(?)/backing vocals sound pretty dated and a lot of the ballads sound like christmas music and like i enjoy christmas music and all but 24 is a lot of songs

Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin
Jun 24 2026

As a rule I do not like double albums, especially when (according to wikipedia) they made the choice to to stretch this out into a double with unreleased material There is a genuinely incredible ~9 or 10 song album in here (the stretch from Houses of the Holy to Ten Years Gone + The Wanton Song is great) but instead its 82 minutes long As far as rock goes there's a nice amount of variety, In the Light was a really pleasant surprise. Unfortunately the album still manages to drag a little

Figure 8 by Elliott Smith

I didn't hate it, Son of Sam was a good opening and his voice is actually quite nice, but it still ended up repetitive after a while, with later tracks losing a lot of the energy that made some of the early tracks nice Mostly kind of turns into background music. It feels like one of those albums that is only on the list due to a tragic death because there are a TON of those. I'm sure I'll like his other album on here more

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Jun 30 2026

This type of music is absolutely not for me but I do get it. Some of the songs are really great and it doesn't overstay. Easy 4 if I was 30 years older.

Disintegration by The Cure
Jul 01 2026

i like this a lot it gets a little long, i probably couldve done without like Homesick, maybe, but i still like it a lot

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Jul 04 2026

This is my 8th album. This is the second time i have had to listen to jack white's voice. i am so tired of jack white Half of the songs are just weird about women or are overt whiny incel shit AND it doesn't even sound good Jack White is such a freak

Fragile by Yes
Jul 05 2026

As far as prog goes its weirdly uncompelling. Lot of technical skill on display and I can appreciate the attempt at more experimental stuff but it doesn't quite feel like it lands here, so the album is really only like 4 or 5 songs long At least the songs themselves are nice enough

Jul 06 2026

I think you could make a reasonable argument that this is categorically not an album. I really dislike both the singing style and the spoken word. Something about the weird invited fake live audience is sooooo offputting and weirdly self congratulatory to me

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters
Jul 07 2026

Singles band, and a painfully generic singles band at that. Basically every song on here is indistinguishable from one another and from a lot of other rock of the time. Also Dave Grohl is a huge piece of shit

This was actually a lot of fun! Welcome break from a thousand years of the worst rock I've ever heard. Beats get weird with it which I like and I am actively looking forward to listening to her other album on here, which is more than I can say for basically every other artist I've had so far Tentative 3, might edit later to a 2

Jul 11 2026

This is really nice! Its angry its fast and it has a decent bit of variety in a really nice and short package. I didn't love the vocal style too much but I at least found it interesting Mixing was different between tracks which I found a bit jarring but not really super important

Achtung Baby by U2
Jul 13 2026

Not particularly compelling, very bland and generic and almost 0 variety through the album. Also I can't stand bono's voice

The Doors by The Doors
Jul 14 2026

It just sounds old, I think that's the organ's fault because it is ROUGH. why does he keep talking about little girls
